The front sight is pinned on like the original 858 but it could be removed. You can mount a compensator on the tactical, but right now the hunter does not have a threaded barrel. It is possible that that might change.

Is the bolt carrier modified ? I notice that the charging handle is on the far front and there is no slot for clips.

It is slightly modified and considering it has a full top rail have a slot for a stripper clip would be of no purpose.

Bolt etc is still the same and that will work. The springs are still the same, they just now are held in place at the back by this nice little retainer which keeps them solid. I like it better than the old top cover setup for the springs.

I love it. Would be nice if there was a rail system for the gun that was 10-12 inched long and covered the gas block and barrel a bit

Mr. Wolverine is still determining that. It will be a little before the exact price it out and will also depend on any changes that may be made to the cosmetics etc. He is hoping to keep it under the $1000 range

If the rear of the receiver/rail would be slanted it would be more estaticly pleasing but not worth any delays or price hickes.

As far as I am aware all the tactical models will have the folding stock.

Well that will remain to be seen, it all depends on the timeframe the garda (RCMP) to make their determination.
