None of the non-restricted CZ858 rifles had a chrome lined barrel only the restricted length ones.

they did do some cromlined 858 non restricted barrels it was the first batch or wave then they stopped due to added costs and it's harder to mill the barrel.

They bought precromlined barrel blanks to make it. The company that was making the barrels stopped doing cromelined due to changing laws on chemical use or something like that.

irons sights on a battle rifle makes sense, scopes are for bolts

Exactly! Iron sights are essential on a battle type rifle.... think m14, sks, ar15.....

Irons are much much more durable, don't need batteries and don't have glass that can break.

I hope the 958 has a rail at the spot on the receiver where the rear iron sight normally is. That way one could mount the rear iron type of their choice (or none at all). Of course it would have to line up properly with the front sight. Then a co-witness with a red dot type scope would be possible.

Most AR-15's don't have irons now, they are add-ons, so would make a 958 with a rail and no iron sights exactly the same as them. If the final product comes out without iron sights, think buis, it also give the end user choices as to styles of front posts and rears as well.

Nope, you will have to wait on Mr. Wolverine for that one, and as it has been said before, the final design still hasn't been finalized, but I know the boss has been working hard on it to get it all finalized.

So would this mean a wolverine exclusive? ( including dealers that buy from wolverine)

Honestly for me, the important thing is optic mountabilaty, cz mag interchangegebilaty and easy tooless stripping

On that one you will have to wait and hear from Mr. Wolverine. I honestly have no idea, I'm just a guy who loves the smell of gunpowder, cordite and thinks break-free makes great cologne and potpourri. :D

I taught you were just a guy working a wolverine supply?

Ps I prefer the smell of hope's 9, maybe I'd need to try a new perfume...

3 ideas that stick out for me Nitro carburizing, ability to take pistol (ar) mags,
And since we have an optics mount, chamber it in 6.5 grendel.

As a "hunting" rifle it should have superior corrosion resistance at the least.

Here's a question... It's been stated that they will take the cz858 magazines, but will they take the KCI CZ 858 5/30 Mag that you guys sell for $20?

After reading the reviews on it, it sounds like there is an issue with them only fitting properly into mil-spec receivers.

And if they DO fit... I recommend offering a package deal with the rifle... 10 mags... And a crate of boooolets!

If I recall, it was just the CSA VZ 58's that had trouble fitting the KCI mags.

Yes, because they were not milspec (from what I've read).

These new cz958 are not mil surp receivers... Just asking the question is all

You make a valid point, the intention is to be sure that the KCI mags will work and hopefully the B&T mag well adapter will drop in. I am visiting Bruno very shortly and these are points that I have noted and will be discussing with them.
