Yes "adverse" is designed for military use to temporarily allow the firearm to continue to function, until the weapon can be cleaned and serviced. Normally due to things like carbon build up, weather, etc.

my only experience on this is with the service LMG for the CAF (C9) and that heavy of a weapon with 200rnds of ammo firing 5.56 i never really noticed that much difference in recoil.
 
My 16" 5.56 version arrived today. I'm pretty happy with it. With the factory stock and the ACOG it feels great - not too front-heavy, which I was a bit concerned about. I thought I'd try an AR stock on it, as it came with a buffer tube adapter... maybe it'd work for someone else, but it was wayyy too long for me. I think I'll be sticking to the factory stock for this one!









With my 7.62x39 NR version:





This platform will never be as 'pretty' as a nice AR15, IMHO, but with the 5.56 version with the longer handguard it actually looks pretty decent. The 7.62x39 still looks... odd to me, with the curved magazine and in particular with the ridiculously long NR barrel, but it actually functions well and feels great in the hand, so I guess looks don't matter that much!
 
That 16" is pretty sick, I gotta say! I'd be hard-pressed to choose between that or the 14". I lean towards the 14" in Military configuration "just because", but I'm guessing that the 16" is a great performer with a bit more velocity/range. In any case, nice addition!

Long handguard looks good. If I got my numbers correct the proportions with the hbi 13.8 inch handguard on the 18.5 are the same as the stock 16.5 model proportions.

I did the same math, and I think you're pretty close. I already ordered the 13.8" handguard for the NR one. It should look pretty similar to the way the 16" one does now...

As an owner of a 14" Bren 2 Bartok5 should know where to get one. That was my point.

I have looked at multiple sites with Bren 2s but I never saw a 14" version for sale in Canada. 11" / 16" / NR but no 14".
 
There are no 14" Bren 2s to be had as all miiltary production is headed to Ukraine as well as contracts to re-equip the Hungarian and Czechc Armies with 5.56mm NATO-compliant rifles. I lucked into a 14" from IRG back when they were very first advertised in June, however there have been none offered in Canada since.

If you ae not dead-set on having the correct military configuration, then go for the 16" US commercial version with the longer handguard. It looks like a very nice rifle with just a little more length (but alos velocity/range). Your other option would be to purchase the "carbine" version of the Bren 2 with the 11" Barrel. Otherwise, best of luck playing the waiting game for a 14" - you could be waiting a week or a year, as nobody knows....

Thanks for the info.

Can I ask, does the 14 have a thick barrel like the 16? Or is it a thinner barrel like the 11?
