CZ Bren2 Owner: Info, Pics, Mods

Anyone else buy the Preston Precision rails and have a hard time installing them? I can't for the life of get the screws started. In fact, it's really difficult to get the original screws back in as well.

I found the culprit. The gas block wasn't pinned on straight and it's touching the hand guard.

Mine is a Marstar 16 inch handguard. I shot a .35 inch group with my bolt rifle same day so it is not the shooter. I am very disappointed. 4k for a rifle with same accuracy as an M44 surplus bolt.

What groups are you getting? The best I got is 1.39MOA with my "volume reloads" and other 5-6 groups I tested were about 2-2.5 MOA. Haven't finished all of my tests though and I had issues with muzzle device so can't say I'm 100% sure on what rifle is capable of. I have 11" converted by Dlask.
I spent probably $200 on various ammo (like 16 or so types of ammo) shooting with no muzzle devices just to find that installed cheapo reverse can with integral brake shrank groups twice in size, WTF.. and all I left with was cheap PMC bronze, my reloads and no tools to tighten the brake properly...

Second group I suspect brake became loose, I had to tighten it by hand from time to time. These groups were taken with PA 6x scope.

This is the best group I got. These were with 4x prism scope.

Not very happy with the accuracy. Prone with rear squeeze bag. Slight 6 o'clock breeze. I'm going to clean it, check the screws, and try again tomorrow.

I fired these groups over an hour. Between each group I walked to the target and let the barrel and gas block cool down.

First 5 round group was Winchester Open Tip 62gr. 4" group
Second was Federal PowerShok 64gr. One went off the paper on the right. 9"+
Third was Barnes JHP BT 69gr. I shot two 5 round groups. There were two shots off the left side. 8"+ group.

Must be something wrong with it to give those results. I would send it back for warranty

Hey guys I need help . I just picked up a cz Bren 2 carbine with dlask 556 barrel NR.Anyone with a loading data ?
ahhhhh… are you a hand loader? This question is pretty vague and not one most people ask this way without context/needs/goals/ powder on hand…

My 5.56 for bulk shooting likes 26gr CFE 223, under 55gr campro FMJBT which makes clovers at 50m with irons and a cluster with Speer soft points (also 55gr).
It is more accurate with 69/70/75/77gr projectiles (match or boat tail)
I loaded some SS109 62gr steel core above some H335 for a green tip spec load talking it to max 5.56 pressure. (Fun fireballs)
IMR4198 is nice with 55gr FMJBT and lighter but if you send a 30-50gr projectile 3200-3400fps it might evaporate/shreds mid air.
I broke my Bren in with trailboss and tight group subsonic loads that had to be run with the gas system closed and manual cycling.

My 7.62 likes Norico Redbox ammo in all 3 has positions.
It liked 26grs of IMR4198 which is just below Speer’s max load for 123gr and well above Hodgdon’s max of 24gr or something.
It also liked h335, also speer data. Their max is 34.4 compressed. I was getting near max case fill at 33.6-33.8 and was pleanty spice to get good ejection and performance.

7.62 Bren didn’t like max loads of n110, 5744 and I didn’t push pad max. Neither would reliable eject in position 1,2, or the #3 tiny hole.

I think ammo choice is key for the 7.62. Maybe factory boxes are spec for bolt action?

I agree. To be fair, I was getting a bit frustrated shooting the last two groups, which probably didn’t help.

That will 100% do it ha.

Lets see if the image upload tool works:

Some 1000rd count 5.56 bolt “cleaning-p@rn.”

And x39 model for fun.
