Hi guys, thought I would tell you about my new toy. Just bought a CZ Shadow from International Shooting supplies in Surrey. Great customer service. I have been there several times looking at different handguns, checked out all the gun stores in the lower mainland. These guys treated me better than anywhere. Yoram, the tech who actually took my money and helped me make the final choice was great. He knows his stuff and it shows. He is a lefty like me and showed me how easy this handgun was to handle by a lefty. Hats off to International and a special thanks to Yoram. He made this noobie very comfortable. I will go there for everything. Check it out anyone in the Lower Mainland, its a really friendly place and the prices are excellent. I never tried to haggle and the CZ was $50 cheaper than anywhere else close by. Now I'm looking for a 1911........... The address is 14904 104th Ave, it used to be Hunters but totally new staff and owner.

Enjoy. I purchased a Shadow a short time ago myself. The people at International are very helpful & friendly for sure. If you have any CZ questions, be sure to post them. Which range do you attend?

i've got mine a year ago and i'm still raving about it.....seems like shadows are sold as fast as hot bread.

and if you ever look into 40 S&W, their tactical sport is an awesome gun sporting a very smooth as silk trigger OTB.
i'm a die-hard glock fan, own many glocks ,but to me CZ's are a close runner up for the value, very precise shooters .

i'm a member of Mission Rod and Gun but my membership lapsed. I will be renewing in the New Year. If I renew now I end paying $150 for just short of 3 months so I'm waiting. I will go to PoCo with my son until then. My son has Glocks but I'm afraid they are not my cup of tea, great guns but as soon as I picked up this handgun it just fit me literally like a glove. If everyone liked one type of anything life would be very boring.

I just shot a level 3 IPSC match with mine and there were a bunch more of them there in production class, that says a lot.

Come to the newly improved Abby range, associate membership is $60 a year and there is indoor range about to open...

Tell me more about the Abby range? do they have trap and skeet? I like to shoot all my stuff when I head out. What do I get being an associate membership? Can I take guests for a range fee and what does the range fee cost.

:agree:

Abby has a trap club but I am pretty sure no skeet. Abbotsford just opened two new outdoor ranges also. Membership at Abbotsford runs from May 1st to April 30th. Black rifle & pistol friendly with no one round, one shot rule. IPSC club starting up. Looking good.

/just checked the website, I will have to drive out and take a look. It is closer to Surrey than Mission. The membership for a new member is $95 which is pretty good, $60 to renew. So I will head out and give it a look see.

+ 1 on the Abby, great range with a great bunch of folks. You will run into Slavex aka Rob E. there. He will be the guy helping the newbee learn to shoot his pistol or just helping...

Take Care

Bob

Congrats on the purchase....you are going to LOVE your shadow!! It is my favorite pistol to shoot. I put in a 13lb main spring and a 3.5 lb trigger. Have fun with your new toy.

Associate is $65 and all that means is you have to be a member somewhere else for insurance purposes. And you can't vote at meetings.

Congrats on the new toy! CZs are well known for their comfortable factory grip and out of the box accuracy. I haven't been to ISS yet. Last time I was in there it was Hunters. I heard ISS is owned by the same guys as Italian Sporting Goods.

I am not sure about the Italian Sporting goods connection, I believe that its not. Scott the owner, is I think independant. regardless its a great place to go as it italian, I bought my Beretta shotgun from Italian years ago, great service but I live in Surrey so I think I'm a regular at Scotts. Also got an unbelievable deal on ammo.
Thanks for the info on Abbotsford, It sounds cool, I will head out next week and take a look. I'm a member of silvercore right now so I guess the associate membership would work for me too. Is there any pistol shooting there right now? I know someone mentioned an upcoming indoor range.
Also you CZ guys, is there an alternate rear sight for the Shadow? It came with the basic non tritium non anything rear sight and a fibre optic front. My old eyes would prefer something a little brighter.

How about this sight?

Slavex should be running S&D next Fri. 6-10PM, $15 fee.
Rear Shadow sight is meant for competitive shooting where you don't need dots on rear sight, you always focus on front sight only.
If you show up I can swap your red FO rod for green if you like my gun with green FO. I see green much better with my tired eyes :D

I agree. Swapping out the stock 18# mainspring for a 13# spring is cheap, easy, and makes a world of improvement on an already excellent pistol. I didn't touch my trigger, but it's breaking at just under 3 lbs.

I love mine, the only thing i wish i could change is the hammer break point of the trigger. d like if a little more foward since i have longs fingers. Not a huge deal though.

I have those sights on my CZ 85 and its good for fast close up shots but you die on the longer shots like plates at 25 yards. The front sight is a little too big, especially the bulb in the Fiber optic. My Dawson FO sights have a smaller rod and you can actually see the edge of the sight while the front of the LPA sight above is just one big red blob.

So membership at Abbey right now is closed? Also, any word on hours, ranges and days it is open? I am in Surrey and looking for a new range to sign up for. My membership at Mission expired too.
