CZ sp75-01 Shadow.

I have those sights on my CZ 85 and its good for fast close up shots but you die on the longer shots like plates at 25 yards. The front sight is a little too big, especially the bulb in the Fiber optic. My Dawson FO sights have a smaller rod and you can actually see the edge of the sight while the front of the LPA sight above is just one big red blob.

Ghost Products in Arizona sells a competition fixed rear sight that is excellent for IDPA/IPSC. When married to the proper sized front sight it works very well. I have it on my CZ85 Combat and like it very much. Highly recomend.

So what front sight are you using with that CZ rear sight Bob?

I have one of those here in the parts box and I might replace the LPA rear. Did you go with the CZ FO front sight from Angus?

Hi

I went with the sight recomended by Angus to mate with the rear. They indicate the height requirements on their site.

Once adjusted for windage sight is bang on out to 25 yards and works great for IDPA. I think I prefer the green tube over the red. Right now some of my guns are red equipped while some are green. It can't be to big of an issue or I would take the time to change them all to the same colour.:D

FTI I had the late Ken Soucie replace the hammer with the competition hammer on his advice. He told me he couldn't do a better trigger job on the gun over what the simple replacement of the hammer provided. He was right! My 85C has just as nice a trigger or perhaps better than my stock Shadow which in itself has a pretty nice trigger.

Factory rear sight needs 5.5mm tall front.

It's 6.5mm tall sight, good for either Comp or Tact rear sight. That's what I got on my 75B SA as well (I went with Tact rear sight for speed and no-snag reasons). Looking forward to beat Bob in next Provincials if he shoots ESP as opposed to revolver :D
Also, hopefully we are not to drive 15hrs to Terrace next year :D :D

yep.ghost products is where i take all my CZ stuff, as well as dillon parts. great peoples to deal with, ROB and ANGUS are very nice peoples.

i installed one of their LPA adjustable rear, it work fine with the stock front but you can also get the 6.5 front for more adjustability from the rear.

Hey I am practicing with my GP100 Stainless in SSR. I think John wants a piece of me but he maybe shooting ESR next year. Jim S over in Alberta wants some BC coin and I rather fancy a financial transfer payment from Alberta. No decision on the location yet. You may have to enjoy another trip to God's country. Get Ken to do the driving.:D

Hi Stonehorse, I shot off an email to the Abby range a couple of days ago, no reply yet I guess its best to call them and see if I can go for a quick look around. I really do like Mission but it is a bit of a trek from Surrey and that outdoor range gets pretty chilly in the winter. My old bones like the idea of an indoor pistol range.

Me too. I have a Gmail account that did not go through the first time I emailed for membership info. Saturday afternoons from 2:00 to 5:00 PM is when Dave is usually available to sign up new members.

I had a great introduction to Semiahmoo tonight. I got there really late and was greeted warmly by Cezer and the range officer. This was my first time on a pistol range, I'm a trap guy. Anyway, I could not have been made more welcome and I was really impressed with the emphasis on safety. Its a whole different ballgame than trap shooting. I think this is the start of a fun hobby for me. Thanks again Cezer, for your warm welcome and the trigger job you did on my Shadow.

You are very welcome :)
And changing main spring, thou makes trigger lighter, isn't a 'trigger job'. Shadow comes with very nice trigger from factory, and you should have easy time shooting it. I hope to see you in Abby on Sat.

Damn... now i feel really bad for not coming yesterday to Semiahmoo. Is there gonna be IDPA training in Abby on sat or just casual plinking?

Our caretaker has been off hunting so he has a backlog of emails. Memberships are also available tonight from 7:30pm until the meeting is over.

Hi Slavex, would this skills and drills suit an absolute rookie who has shot a milion shotgun shells but only 2 handgun rounds? Cever was great last night but I could barely see the targets they were so far away. I need to get a little more shooting line protocol down and then maybe shoot something at around 10 yards, is that possible on Saturday?
