CZ Warranty Depot for Canada...

The issue is the shear quantity of different firearms CZ has sold / sells. We did order quantity of spares for the most common problems that would pop up but some parts (for Turkish made shot guns and walnut stocks that just kept cracking) were almost impossible to get. We had to wait 14 months once for them to supply shot gun parts. It was so bad we actually INSISTED they just replace the gentleman's gun with a new one. Brutal.

The issue with other things that would go wrong is that CZ would require us to pay for the parts up front. This means they expected us to have TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS of stock just sitting here doing nothing while they waited for a warranty to pop up. As well the racking and warehouse space and computers system for organization etc....you get the point. We just could not do this as it makes ZERO sense from a business stand point. Warranty is THEIR problem, not ours.

If they would have seen sense they would have offered to rent a small warehouse unit and outfit it with what they need then just charge every month when parts are used for repairs....but that's just not the CZ way unfortunately.

Got it. I guess that's why so many people buy a CZ and then another one of the same "for backup". Didn't make sense at the time, but if I knew one of my gun (one I like) was gonna be stuck in a repair center for 6+ months, I'd buy another one and sell one of them when I get back to having 2. I was thinking about getting a shadow 2, but for roughly the same price I might get a tanfoglio instead.

That's a shame Desert Tec did the same thing.
I bought my first DTA SRS-A1 from Dlask and they were awesome to deal with, anything that I wanted I got in a very short time.
Desert Tec have also switched to Grech Outdoors and I can't get any spares out of them. I have called and emailed many times and to be quite frank they are not interested so I have resorted to importing myself.
Pretty P*ss poor when I have almost $20K invested in my DTA's, dumb decision by CZ and DTA!

My Shadow 2 has been out for repairs for 4 months and I will not see it until mid 2018. I spent $1400 on a pistol that never worked. Grech Outdoors has no parts and CZ doesnt seem to care about sending replacement parts. BUT t hey have my money, why should they care about servicing an improperly milled slide?

Canada needs a good warranty depot for all firearm makers, with good triage on incoming firearms and good communication on what is going on with the claim etc.

Geez, those are some harsh critiques. Maybe we should be the warranty depot again...lol.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Grech. I had a CZ 527 in 7.62x39, the stock cracked on me in about 50 or so rounds, I ended up taking it into my local smith to repair because I did not want to wait several months for them to repair it, assuming they don't send it back to me even more broken than the state it was in like I've heard with some people's guns. Trying to communicate with them was an absolutely abysmal experience and they gave unclear, or outright wrong instructions on how to proceed with repairs, so I quickly gave up on trying. From what I've heard you guys did a much better job than Grech did.

Dlask, if we bring our own parts. Will you work on them?

Yes, we will depending on the model. Shotguns are out, we will not look at those because of the way they are made and the chances that the parts you have to fix them will be incorrect.

Otherwise for the pistol line up and rifle lines we will generally be able to fix them fairly quickly if you have the CORRECT parts.

Please bear in mind that our shop rate is $105/ hr. with a $40/ minimum and is not covered by and warranty claims.

Great news, you will be my go to for repairs, yureznika is correct and as I said earlier, communication is key, people want to know what is wrong and approx how long it will take etc. Thanks for stepping up!

Had my CZ going on 7 months now for warranty sear spring replacement at grech outdoors.
Sent them grech gun Feb 2017.
Parts came in from CZ July 2017 and sear spring was not on shipment
Rather than wait for another 7 months for gun to be fixed I wrote CZ and they sent the part to grech by DHL.Did not take long for CZ to get action. Part was received at grech July 29th.
Now waiting for grech to repair my gun after 7 months waiting for part.
Wrote Grech to ask when can they repair my CZ sear spring?
Have not heard from them.
7 months and counting!!

Will send another email or try to phone grech next week.
Grech is not totally to blame as can not get parts from CZ.
Yes agree grech are not one for returning emails so will try phoning.

What we need is some kind of digikey for gun parts. When one of my gun breaks, I'm ok with paying for the replacement parts and the gunsmith rate if I can't swap the part myself (well, I don't like it, but I don't like paying to get my car fixed either but still I do it). But the parts need to be available somewhere. Right now if Brownells doesn't sell the replacement, we're pretty much out of luck.

Of course if the gun is DOA, it should be fixed or replaced by the manufacturer at its own cost.

On a side note, I'm not sure why grech is so bad. The only time I had a DOA gun, the warranty work was made by blue line solution, and it took them a big total of 24 hours to actually do the job. The round trip from Quebec to BC and back to Quebec took forever, but the gun stayed in their hands at most 2 days. If blsolution can fix a gun in a day, it shouldn't take grech 7 months.

Write CZ and cc Gretchen and ask for the gun back along with the sear spring.
You can likely you tube it and if it your self.
While you writing CZ get a few other Springs for future self warranty repairs.

Received email from grech gun repaired and shipped back to me today. Good turn around from grech once received part.
CZ in chech rep really has a problem with supplying parts to grech. As takes way to long and makes cz owners take it out on grech. CZ has to realize your supplier is only as good (meaning grech) as to the support and service you CZ give grech your warrenty service centre.
CZ has let everyone down which will affect sales.
7 months to get parts AND I had to write CZ to complain and have them send part by DHL to Grech after 7 months is unheard of in my mind.
I would not be surprised if grech gives up on CZ unless they get there act together and supply parts in a timely manner.
To be fair I took it out on grech as they are the first stop in my quest to get gun fixed.
But if not getting parts would be embarrassed to write email back stating Ordered part don't have a clue when it will come in as can not get answers from CZ and when ship 4 months or more later do not know if will ship part!!
Word of advice for grech if can not improve CZ service tell them to put there guns where the sun don't shine as I (grech am out of here)
Good luck grech and CZ owners.

Not sure I understand what you wrote. You said you sent your gun to grech, then waited 7 months, then emailed CZ, which promptly sent the required parts to grech?

Sounds like CZ sends parts in a timely manners if they are requested. Grech and CZ can blame each other all day long, but from here it looks like grech didn't order the part 7 months ago.

Wow, I sure missed a lot of drama here! It's obvious to me that at the heart of it, CZ is providing terrible support to it's warranty centers (except CZ-USA... cuz you know... can't piss off the "Big Boys" AKA the US market...). Certainly, Grech ain't a diamond in the rough either, I received exactly 0% satisfaction towards two CZ 455 warranty issues from them after several months of aggravation in both cases. How hard is it to call up CZ and say "Please send me a .22LR American barrel to replace this defective one for my customer"? Oh what, you don't "make money" for your time on the phone to bring the barrel in for me, so you give me the cold shoulder and slam the door on me??? Why are you a warranty center if you don't care about customer service? Better question is why is CZ so flippant about taking care of their customers post-purchase? Canada is one of the next major markets for their product after the USA, but if we can't get decent warranty service and CZ doesn't step up their quality control game, I see them crashing and burning their business down one market at a time. Better hope the USA can float your boat in the future....

If I'd have known the "behind the scenes" reasons why DLASK stepped down from doing the warranty work, I'd have steered well clear of all CZ products (and spared myself the nightmare of dealing with their defective crap). As a customer, the only thing worse than getting a defective product is being "flipped the bird" by cavalier company that refuses to make the situation right, while buying lobster at a fine dining restaurant with your money.

I was teeter-tottering about maybe getting a 452 while they're still available, but for one my concern about being stuck with another defective barrel meant I would only get one if I could personally inspect it before purchase. Now with confirmation about the way CZ conducts themselves, there is no way I will support or endorse their products again.
