CZ527 Carbine, just unpackaged

Another one for the Leupold rings, have been perfect and since the leatherman is always on the belt, they can be off in 15 seconds if the need ever came up.....

The lumber ain’t as nice as Kurgan’s but it is a laser beam......

Prices for the coveted CZ 527 in 7.62x39 have dropped $100 all over in the last few days.

For a while, they were impossible to find, and now they're cheaper than they've been in a long time.

Now I guess there will be even more of us trying to locate the elusive 7.62x39 spare magazines. LOL!

Well that was pretty fast shipping. Won the wood lottery on this one too it seems. Has the new trigger/mag housing, really smooth action, set trigger is crazy light out of the box, rear sight has dots on both sides...not sure why, must be some reason I guess?
For all the #### Tenda gets, they did pretty good by me on this deal.

Solely Outdoors , a site sponsor, has the synthetic for $919. I got a wood from them a few months ago for not much more. The magazines are becoming very elusive for sure. They seem to be back ordered at most site sponsor vendors.

$899 free shipping for that one above, not sure they still any. I was originally interested in the syn version due to stock cracking issues, but I'll be bedding this one anyway.

Wow, amazing wood. I'd bed it just to minimize the chance of that nice piece of walnut cracking. I'd be pretty crushed if that split.

Beauty score on that one fer sure. I've had similar wood on previously owned CZ 452 rimfires. Funny how the wood lotto works with CZ.

Been wanting an x39 bolt gun for a while, picked up 2 of the Zastava cheap years ago, think they were under $400 each from Canam, really couldn't warm up to them and sold them off, just too rough and shot pretty poorly.
Have lots of Howa's, and looked at them, but the ATI mags and trigger guards are not really quality parts. Had some Ruger Americans in 308 and sold them fast...not worth the retail on those, wasn't going to pursue another one.
Always wanted to try a CZ, but either didn't have the funds on hand at time of sale, or wasn't going to get milked for $1200 like some dealers have them priced at.
It was less the $950 to my door with tax, not cheap for sure, but I'm still scouring over it for a flaw of any kind and coming up empty... they are quite well made for the price. Light handy carbine, decent irons, great triggers, decent power chambering, I have dies already and brass/bullets, will try and see how it shoots Saturday and report back. And couldn't get more tiger striped walnut I don't think...kind of pretty looking gun.

You got it for a great price. My bet is prices go way up next year. Also, CZ is consolidating their hunting lines, and I wonder what will be available in 2022. If you are looking for impeccable quality, smooth action and refined fit and finish, look at the 557 Lux models. Loving my 8x57! Accurate too! A few Lux models can still be had if you look around. They blow everything else out of the water, especially at CZ's price point. And while I still really like the Tikka T3x and Howa 1500 lines, CZ has them beat (all steel and nice wood).

Cleaned the trigger adjustments up last night, got the regular pull set up quite nice, single set is still crazy light so I left it alone, really complex trigger mech...not the adjustment part, just the whole design... impressive. Gave it a tear down and good clean/lube, bolt comes apart very easy, noticed it has dual cam lugs as well, makes cocking the bolt much easier and smoother, quite a neat little design all around, lots of engineering went into these, not a simple action to make.
Was out today, but running late, couldn't find my old hand loads or my factory S&B ammo, so took 2 boxes of Romanian corrosive surplus. (Forgot to bring a mag for my MRA Renegade as well..doh, still got it sighted in single loading.)
Used a 6 o clock hold, didn't even touch the paper at 100m with the first 5 rounds lol. Everything was about 10" low. Had to hold the fiber optic dot on the target, that's how it came set up for POI, which is not the way I'm use to shooting. I guess it's like 3 dot pistol sights, fast and you can hit large stuff quickly, but not exactly for precision. Anyway after holding the dot on the target I was hitting black steady, but it was an 8" black, so nothing too impressive. Not sure if I'll adjust the front sight to my shooting style, or just leave it as is and practice with it. I'm pretty good with irons and 6 o clock hold, you can still see your target which is the big difference.
Have some rings coming so with a scope and some decent handloads I'll see what it can do. Definitely a lot of fun to shoot, really fun, makes me want to get a 223 now to go with it. So light, handy, and high quality.
