DA50 .50BMG upper!!!???

I poked my nose around for an 80% lower with a solid mag well. Perhaps it could be sculpted to better reinforce the lower and keep it as a single shot. It would still need to be registered, but it may give shooters a bit more confidence in their lower. I even took a peek at forgings.. if it weren't for threading the buffer tube, they'd be just about perfect.

No doubt. If this is something you want I would buy it before the non restricted lower comes out because it will be hard to get after.

Oh I think CamAm will be ramping up production if a NR lower comes out for under $500. A >$2000 NR 50bmg would be a huge seller. Especially if they worked up a package deal with an optic that'll handle the recoil but not break the bank for like $500 more - I'd be trying to figure out wtf I can sell to come up with $2600 if it would net me a 50... And Im sure Im not the only one.

How's your liver? ;)

I'm super stoked about this, but I'm not going to jump aboard immediately. My range (poco) only allows up to .338 lapua, ideally I'd like to take it out to the bush.

So,...
I've been staring at the parts this evening, and I think I might have an answer to the NR issue.

No further comment until I run it past a few trusted people, and get back to CA.

Oh man. That's some great news but what a tease! Can't wait to hear more Tootall!!

Looks like tootall beat me to it but there are a couple of factors. Scope bite is definitely one of them. Especially when you have a 50 and want all your friends to try it. Second is that not everyone wants a separated shoulder. I like feeling recoil as much as the next guy but when you're throwing down more than ten rounds in a couple of minutes it's a little more fun when it doesn't feel like you're constantly getting kicked in the shoulder by a psycho Spetsnaz.

It's really not that bad... I find my 30-06 hunting rifle set up kicks harder... lighter gun without a brake, compared to a heavy gun with a very big brake.
I usually don't throw that much lead down range for the cost factor not the kick factor. :)
