Here's a pic.
I got mine, #007.
About 10 left today. Selling faaaast!
;o)

depending on what's been improved they could be good, or they could suck. the original DACs were hand machined, hence the reason there were so many issues with them. now that Joe has a CNC it's possible he's finally got around to programing these in and as such should have better control over the machining.

I asked some questions about this, and I was told an expert can assemble one in 2-3 hours. So I would guess ( untill mine arrives ) some fitting of parts. Im guessing for me job average ( sig lover ) that I should be running it at the range about 5 hours after it gets dropped off. I looks the like the frame is completely machined. Should be a fit and function. We will see!

I have mine and man.. it's kinda hard putting it together... yes everything is machined. but slide and barrel needs to be lapped and fitted, the grip holes need to be tapped with m3 x .5 threads, the trigger group and the hammer group area needs a little deburring so that all the stuff would fit together. I'm at 8 hours and i only have the barrel, slide, locking block and trigger group in. I have no clue how to fit the hammer stuff together :S

Sushix2, order the armored DVD from Brownells, the guys on the Sig forum seem to think it's alot better than the interactive armorer DVD from Sig.

Thank's for the heads-up about the amount of work envolved, looks like I better get a couple of cases of beer, I have two kits inbound.:D

Might be a stupid question but, do P226 mags fit this thing?

There are 4 grooves in the magwell that you'll need to file out before original sig mags will fit.

No they use 228 mags, I have an original 394 and I never had to modify the magwell for factory Sig 228 mags.

Sorry, but this is incorrect. I specifically asked about this when I called Dlask enquiring about the kits. They are made to specifically use the DAC mags. You can use Sig 228 mags in them only after filing away the four "shoulders" that are machined into the mag well (two on either side). This is straight from the proverbial "horses' mouth"... HTH's

Sorry but do you want to bet?

I have one that does just this, maybe he used to machine them better back then.
This was not a kit but a complete DAC-394

The earlier DAC394's had the ribs. The later production ones had the ribs filed off before the frame was getting the final finish. I have an early DAC394 here with the ribs and when I asked Joe about them, he said just to file them out as that is what they did in the shop. Would have been too expensive to change the molds for the frames.

No thanks. This post is about the DAC-394 kits. As another poster has confirmed, the kits do have the ribs. Yours may have been finished to use the Sig mags, but the info I was providing was specifically in regards to the kits. Following this, I assumed that your original comment about these using 228 mags was in reference to these kits as well - hence my clarification...

Cheers,
hsld.
