Thanks all. I miss these good threads... everyone seems to just want to argue on here these days.
Always a pleasure to see what this one has got up to when I awaken ( graveyards are my shift...always... ).
I just finished Ruark's book on Africa and he was scared of Buffalo. But his thoughts on the charge pretty much mirrored Dogleg's.
I had a bigger rifle in a 375 WM...but it was a No. 1 T with a mercury tube...I empathize with the guy packing the MG in milsurp pictures... man it was heavy! No real recoil to be scared of though...weight just sucked it up. It turned into a Grad Dress a couple of years ago...
Down to a 9.3 x 57 is the only larger bore rifle left... thought of reaming it to a 9.3 x 62. Still be too small ( by regulations anyhow) for a lot of that Africa stuff.
I'd imagine that a good old 375 H & H will be the next medium bore that I acquire.
This thread will likely help decide the glass.
Thanks again all.
