DD MK18 optic and sights?

RESPECT. I'm the same way Johnny, I don't mind paying for something I really want.

BTW Wolverine and other dealers recently jacked up all their prices to try and compensate for the weak dollar. You used to be able to buy this same FDE set from say Wanstalls (also in Alberta) for $1099 that was before our dollar plummeted.

I was only asking because my next purchase is likely a FDE Tavor to round out the collection and will likely pay good money for the matching tan optic at some point.

Its terrible dealing with the ITAR stuff, you can buy this off the internet but not that....When I first got into firearms, my first 2 orders from Zev in California was direct from them. No import/export BS I was able to buy up to $500 value direct from them and they would mail it to me...Then I go to order more a month or so later, and now the laws changed and they are not aloud to ship anything regardless of value to Canada. Now I have to use IRUNGUNS for even the smallest replacement part that before I could just mail order

May I suggest you go with a variable power scope. Like this View attachment 22628 because if you plan on shooting 3 gun or CQB , you will need it if your eyes aren't that good. Just saying

If you got one let me try it, and as always I try yours you try mine if you like LOL .....Its hard to decide on parts when your new, and you don't have the chance to see or try them out to know what you like better before you drop the cash. So I have been watching/reading tons of reviews to get an idea of what is good. Message boards like this one really help too, even just looking at the pictures to see what others have done on their builds. Nothing is better then actually trying something out though

I have one good eye and one bad eye, shooting 2 eyes open the bad eye affects my overall vision clarity, but Im getting used to it, and better at dealing with it. When I first had my accident and messed up my right eye I was walking into things, and had problems judging speed and distance.

The pic you see is mine . It's a vortex razor gen 2 1.5x6. I've got six ar15s and 2 AR10s with various optics and red dots. When the weather warms up you can try them NP. But I ask what is your purpose .?

Where do you shoot them? My range is rebuilding the back stop, so currently we can only shoot pistol calibers there. The renovations are said to be done by April/May then I can shoot the rifle there. It is only 25 yards though, so I plan to go to outdoor ranges like Silverdale to shoot the rifle. Purpose put holes on targets accurately, its a CQB rifle so nothing too long range, but Id like to shoot it as far as I can whatever that magical number might be thats why I got the magnifier to go with the EXPS so Im not limited to only close range.

My plan was to get this rifle first because I like the whole short CQB thing, and then build something different later, and eventually move to 308/.762

Dont make the mistake of thinking I know what I am doing or have a big plan....LOL Im an impulse buyer, I might actually hate this rifle but I doubt it

That's the one! I love it that model comes with built in "combat" sights on the top essentially mini iron sights. Not sure if you can mount an RMR on that exact model but I know u can on other specter models. The 1-4 is slick and easy to get dialed in

It seems they make a mount kit that allows you to mount a RMR on top. There are 2 set screw that you remove from the top of the Elcan on each side, then the adapter plate screws into those holes.

This looks really cool because it looks like the iron sights are shifted to the side for built in 45 degree offset iron sights

Any idea who sells the mount kit for the Elcan? I love mine!

So much for a good Friday filled with deliveries, I waited at home till 2pm when Canada Post changed all my expected delivery dates from today to Monday. Oh well at least I got a little package at work, and this means Monday will be huge, as I am going to get a rifle, 2 handguns, and some more accessories for the rifle delivered on Monday.

For now I can play with these 2 small parts

Gonna try and make it out to the range tomorrow to test it out

So I got to test her out the other day, it was a small indoor range so no distance but at least I got to test her out. The range only had 140 rounds of American Eagle 55gr in stock so I shot that all. I also found out I will never be able to use the BUIS as they currently mount, because of my eye situation I can not get my left eye low enough to line up with the rear sight. I can use the Eotech though so thats a relief

So now I went out and bought some bulk ammo, I found 500 rounds of the same American Eagle 55gr, and I also got 600 rounds of American Eagle 5.56 62gr. Now as I understand it the 5.56 ammo will have more pressure, but how will that affect the way the rifle shoots or functions?

This week Im looking for small parts, like safety selector and ambi mag release. It feels kind of awkward right now, with bolt catch being where it is, and the location of the mag release. That and Im a sucker for little hop up parts, and it give me an excuse to work on it more and get more familiar with the mechanics of the rifle

Good! Well, as long as your rifle is rated for the caliber, you'll be fine and I haven't heard of an AR not rated for 556 unless they just put 223 so they can sell to jurisdictions that ban military calibers. Different loads will shoot differently and you have to adjust your sights for them. With that being said, you won't notice a difference at Target Sports lol
