de-restrict the AR?

Perhaps it would be a good idea to start a list here on the site (if someone already did, tell me where!!), of potential firearms-related requests that one can reference prior to writing his/her MP. For instance, the subject of this thread, the return of the .32, the .380, the < 4" barrel, full capacity mags, etc. That way all members could submit similar requests to the government, and also ensure they do not neglect to mention something in their letter.

Should find out NFA & CSSA's plan. CSSA email said not to talk to MPs and let them(CSSA) do it for us. I'm not so sure about that plan...

I never said I didn't stab anyone.

If someone is attacked with a firearm instead of a knife, that affects the homicide rate for that attack, I assure you.

Determined people are always going to commit crimes. Laws are often just to keep fools from hurting themselves and, especially, others.

I'd be careful with that 'split a cheesburger' talk; sounds socialist to me...

I don't think I'll dispute the wounding potential of either. But I don't think we can automatically say: "ya but it could have been a gun".

FWIW I know a couple people who were wounded; one in the leg with a 12 gauge and one in the torso with a high powered rifle. Both are still alive. Not too long ago a guy was shot with a 30-06 outside the bar in St. Paul (AB) and he lived. A couple of .25 acp instances for you as well: A man was shot 8times with one, he subsequentely beat the other to death with a shovel.
A store owner shot a robber 6 times in the back and was beaten for his troubles. A determined assailant with a knife may gut the victim.

I don't think the argument for us "turning out like the states" is very strong. Texas, Arizona and many CCW or open carry states are the ones that are quite low in crime, including homicides.

Ha ha, I voted against the socialists! My team got the majority! When I said "split a cheeseburger" it's because of the evil capatalist values that I can afford such generousity!

we should entice them with money. Add a tax to anything on the current prohibited list. $15.00 for guns we currently can't get. Use all that money on border security, trying to stop the actual guns that cause the crimes.

It may entice them, but I don't like where it may lead. Pretty soon it would be known as a "gun victim surcharge", and prone to pressure to escalate into an even more ridiculous tax ($100, $200 as in the states) and indicating that we as a group are in possession of objects dangerous to the general poplace. Which of course is "offset" by large ridiculous taxes to cover "education", "enforcement" and "victim care services".

I had an AR back when they were non-restricted along with the 30 rd mags. I couldn't afford to go blasting all the time back then. I have the cash these days. I can't see any reason for a full size AR to be restricted. Do i need to run for office for the soul purpose of de-restricting the AR?
Um, Maybe I can work as a waitress to get the experience necessary first. I have a super tight skirt for starters.
