December Purchases

I'm confused. Do we not accept compliments around here. When I posted my 09' purchases.... I got a "Nice Buck" and i wasn't even near offended

I post a compliment and I get a smack in the face!

WTF Mate!

IIRC that rifle was issued to the father of a well known french canadian artist, singer, standup comic, poet, and painter Tex Lecor.

I agree in general. However, there is a really interesting piece on display in the citadel in Quebec City. It's a No1 also, carved by a French-Canadian soldier while in the trenches supposedly. He must have gotten a major blast from the RSM over that. Anyone know the rifle I mean? Wish I had some pictures of it.

A year of my life and all I get is a 'nice' me and my family say ouch. Because none of it came easy.

That is a very nice grouping for sure. All look like as issued and in great condition! Nice milsurps are hard to find. Congrats on your 09 purchases. What's next for 2010? Are you staying with a particular theme?

2010 I am going to stick with German rifles and handguns. I have my eye on a P38 right now.

And I am always looking out for Lee Enfields. They are amazing rifles. I am going to ignore the Russian stuff though. I like my SVT-40 and M91/30, but not enough to pursue more.

Good decision...I really needed to focus on one main area as well, as the pocketbook would not allow me to pursue all WW2 era milsurps. German militaria is still relatively easy to find today.

No worries. Let ME try that again. very nice collection! you've got everything from my collection and then some (probably my 2010 purchases actually) I'm really into the mosins with the brass trim on the handguard ...it looks sharp

as for 2010, L/W ife permitting I have my eyes on a Garand probably nothing else due to income vs. cost :(

In 2010 I imagine I'll just continue buying whatever I find that picques my interest. Two guns I'll be dissapointed if I don't add to my collection, however, are an Astra 400 and a T-26 revolver.

I am very happy to say I finally located and bought back my Grampa's No1 MkIII. Why I sold it is beyond me but it is home safe now for good. Just need to gather a couple pieces for it and I will be up and going again. Believe he bought it when he got back from Europe.

It's important to keep the guns in the family. I lost my Grandfathers & Great Grandfathers guns to an Uncle who sold them and didn't give a crap...

Good to hear you tracked it down.
