Delays in scope repairs?

I've heard Leupold customers face a delay in scope repairs/replacements. So I was wondering, are there too many send in for repair or is one of your machines down and you send it to the US?

Thanks, RR

For whats its worth I sent in a deltapoint dot last month and they sent back a new one within a day or two of receiving it.

This is news to me. As a user and retailer of Leupold products, in the past I have found Korth Group to be one of the quickest and best quality warranty depots for any shooting related products we use. Phil.

^^I appreciate your status as a retailer and user of Leupold products in the past as you mentioned.

However, I did not ask for your past experience (frankly, I couldn't care less) but for the situation at present time. This is not a bashing thread but a request for information on scope repair/replacement as in my case it does not meet Korth's published timeline for service.

Thanks, RR

I had one sent in that seemed a tad on the long side for a return.
What did show up to my amazement was a new scope instead of my being repaired.
Inventory was the issue.

I held no grudge on the wee delay as a new scope is better than the old one as far as I was concerned.

Korth is a blessing for us scope users.

One of the machines they use for repair is down and currently being repaired by Leupold.

Glad that you pointed that out Looky, Korth certainly deserves a fair shake

I sent one in last fall and hoped I was going to get it back before muzzle season, but had doubts. They emailed me back guaranteeing that I would have a scope in time for hunting. They even sent a spec sheet saying what they all did and issues they fixed.

I have no doubt that I will receive adequate service from Korth. rkm456 confirmed what I've heard and I can deal with a short delay - no problem.

Good morning all,

RKM456 is correct - we are waiting for the control box for the optic columnator to be returned from Leupold. This tooling is scheduled to be back in our office later this week.

Thank you for your patience during this unexpected delay.

Sorry I wasted your time at trying to give you general experiences and back ground with Korth Group as I thought this may be of benifi to you. Good luck with your repair. Phil.

RR, Are you deliberately trying to be dense?

Korth stated that a machine, built by Leupold and required to properly repair Leupold scopes, was down for repair or recolumization. It is due back this week.

So where do you get off talking about Korth can't repair because parts from Leupold are headquartered in the US. You think that someone in Canada makes Leupold scope parts? Get real. Besides Korth clearly pointed out that it was not a parts problem, but but broken equipment.

Relax.

There is not a scope manufacturer in the world that does not have scopes fail. I'm sure your turnaround time with Korth is still going to be less than if you had to send a Leica to Germany for repair.

I've had two scopes at Korth. The first I had the parallax set for a rimfire. Less than two weeks. One VX3 seemed to have a litgle bit of a wandering zero. I had dropped it off, it was repaired and mailed very quickly. They didn't charge postage. Great service. We're lucky to have them.
