Has anyone had this happen to them? It seemed very strange to me as I have NEVER had this happen before.
When the delivery driver came today he asked me what I was having delivered. Without thinking twice I told him it was a gun. So instead of asking for usual id he asked to see my FAC. Obviously meaning my PAL. Again just figuring I had to show id anyways I didn't question it. It wasn't until later I thought, what the hell was I thinking?
For starters it's none of his damn business what I am being delivered. And secondly what authority or qualification does he have to request my PAL? He obviously did not know what he was looking at as he did not look on the back to see that it is an RPAL not just a PAL. He didn't even know what he was delivering until I told him. He said those are different weigh bills and the only things they cover are guns, ammo, or marijuana. When I called his company (Loomis or part of DHL) they said he should not be asking those questions nor is that info required. They said a supervisor would check into it.
I have had guns left at my front door without a signature before but not this request. Maybe he thought he was the superhero of delivery guys. What if I didn't have it on me? Was he going to refuse to give me the package? When I called the store that I bought the gun from the salesman said I should have told him to pound salt. This is the first time I had a handgun delivered so I was unsure of the process. If it was marijuana was he going to ask for my medical license for it?
