Desert Tech confirms a Canadian MDR

Hmmm. On a vid of a test shoot, I thought I could see it moving. Will check again. Thanks

The Firearm Blog has a vid of a prototype test shoot of the .308 version.

I hope that it changes in the future. Don't need that catching or snagging gear during fire.

Wicked. I'm saving up for that baby, it's going to be my first bullpup if they're classed nr.
Crap I forgot about the m17 this is gonna be a tough decision.

ok, so how come certain manufacturers are worried about a Canadian legal 18.5 bbl length when others are providing legal 12" barrels? The 16" should perfectly legal here. The 18.5 " is minimum lenght that a bbl can be shortened?

No military is going to adopt these

Doesn't really matter does it? I know the street cred about a battle tested rifle, heck I own a tavor, cz858, colt ar, sks, etc. But at this point in Canada if we can get another non restricted semi that takes AR mags, I'm jumping in joy.

Restricted vs non restricted. They are targeting it to the NR market. 12, 16 and anything else under 18.5 inches of barrel would be legal, but confined to range use.

I don't think The Shooting Edge is DTA authorized anymore. I have an SRS from TSE that they won't order the accessories for and it's been nearly a year. John will respond if you complain in a CGN forum, but a dozen voicemails and emails go unanswered. Look elsewhere...

I'm gonna watch Dlask and see if they pick it up. Really, this rifle will be huge and you'll see it all over CGN.

Can you say Rossi Ranch Hand ( and other similar mares leg rifles)? Dominion arms Grizzly Shotgun? H&R backpacker? Norinco Hiker? all NR with barrels under 16". And the Canadian Stainless Ruger GRS is 18", so that distinction is no longer true. Or is there some bogus distinction on semi autos I have missed somewhere?

How is there any decision to be made at all?
On one hand you have a rifle discontinued in 2005 and on the other hand you have a brand new build from a company known for high quality accurate bullpups.
It's a no-brainer for me.

Is there any point to your comment? And how do you know that?

Are you saying that only rifles that are used by a military or law enforcement group somewhere are any good? The T97 is a civilian version of the Type-95 which is used by the Chinese army and from what I've seen that rifle is a POS so considering I already own a DTA SRS and it is one of the best built and most accurate firearms I've ever held I think we can safely say this MDR is going to be high quality and will shoot better than most other non restricted options we have in Canada.

Look elsewhere no matter what you are shopping for. I will have a huge smile on my face when I hear he goes out of business. I bought my SRS from there in 2009 and wish there was another option at the time, makes me sick thinking I gave his shop over $7000 of my money.
