The ejection thingy can be folded out of the way for more conventional operation. Also, I dig that the front sight is mounted to the barrel, as this allows likely reduces zero shift should you be switching out barrel. Even if you don't switch out barrel, I like a barrel mounted sight.
Very nice.
I got a reply from DT this morning.
Expected delivery of the 19 inch model is 3rd or 4th quarter of 2015, 300BLK will be available in the 19 inch but not for a few months after initial release, and they are using Lothar Walther barrels on all models.
So for us in Canada that translates into delivery 4th quarter of 2016 to first quarter of 2017. This is my best quesstimate based on having to wait for the RCMP firearms lab to waste as much time as they can trying to find a reason to restrict or prohibit the ones sent in for examination and classification.

Maybe they could get a restricted version to an importer now, get that classification started, and then submit a longer barrel later. Same gun, just a "child" record update to the frt "parent" record which would be a short, easy update rather than waiting to start with just a NR version.
Maybe email them about getting a restricted version to an importer for the lab. The receiver is the issue. Barrel length would just be a verification as you mentioned. Would save them 6 to 9 months of waiting to open up another market.
Haha. One more won't hurt, especially if it is an email that advises them they can get the classification process started earlier than waiting for the 19 inch barrels. Means getting sales earlier too.
Lol, I doubt they are overly concerned with the 100 rifles they will sell in Canada, most people say they want one and would buy one but have all kinds of excuses when it comes to actually shelling out the $3000. Look at all the posts already trying to pick apart the rifle before they've actually seen it or the "if only it had this" or "it won't be adopted by any military units". Those are excuses trying to hide the fact that their wife won't let them have a rifle that costs this much.
I think DT is going to focus on the US market for the thousands of rifles they will buy then once the sales stabilize the 19 inch will be looked at.
We always have IRG if we can't wait for the 19 inch.
100 sales is still 100 sales.
IRG can't do anything until it gets classified, unless they want to fork over the dough to start the process.
Then since North Sylvia is the importer maybe they need to bring in a couple 16 inch rifles to start the process.
If you look at euro optic they sell them like the HTI and SRS, you buy a chassis and then a caliber kit. shouldn't the lab just need one chassis and one caliber kit to monkey with to generate an frt for a multi caliber chassis? Then since North Sylvia is the importer maybe they need to bring in a couple 16 inch rifles to start the process.

when my ACR was converted to 450, Ian did not have to send it in to have a new FRT generated for the different caliber or barrel length.

Just got another reply.
Barrel will be a full 19 inches not including the muzzle device.
Can I make a suggestion on this? I really really hope that the first model of the rifle they present to the lab is the 19inch model.
If that gets classified as anything else than non restricted this whole rifle just became a waste of time.
