Any news? Recoil magazine did an article recently, are we close to final production? and who will be selling these here? or is it an "import" item? Thanks, I'm guessing NR (barrel lengths?), as I haven't been following the rifles development. Cheers

'Supposed' to be released in Q2 of 2016
But Sven, the pres. of Manticore arms had this to say on a different forum:

"You will not see production guns before 2017. Consider that insider knowledge"...

Guys on Desert techs FB page have posted that they received tracking numbers for their rifles. So they are shipping in USA.

No one on the internet has ever lied, EVER!

lol, I'd love for people to start getting these rifles, but I'll keep calm until people actually have them.

I emailed them directly months ago and was told that they will be filling the US demand first and the 19 inch barrels will probably happen about a year after the rifle is released in the US then the caliber conversions will follow that.
I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for one as it may still be a couple years before we see any non restricted models here in Canada.

He specifically stated 19 inch not including the muzzle brake so they would be eligible as non restricted here (as long as the RCMP lab doesn't F it up), he also verified that they will be using Lothar Walther barrels so accuracy should be very good.

Yeah, I'm really excited for this rifle, but want to wait at least a good solid year before I'd consider getting one. A lot of 'new'-ish stuff to go wrong with a rifle like that, not that Desert Tech has a rep for lemons, but a bolt-gun company going into a fully-ambi totally modular bullpup .308 carbine is a pretty big jump.

Not just 308, the rifle will have a magwell adapter so you can run everything from 223 through 308 all with one chassis :)
My DTA SRS is awesome and with the amount of time they've spent pre-production I doubt the MDR will disappoint.

Same barrel on my SRS-A1. The chamber/bore is like a mirror, looked inside the barrel and it was like a kaleidoscope all the light reflections in different colours. First time ever seeing a barrel like that!

Desert Tech has been beta testing the rifle for last 3 years? I'd hope all the bugs have been worked out.

We have only seen design prototypes up to the last shot 2 months ago. I haven't seen a pre production model , that they actually could demo at the range day.

I am skeptical they are ready to deliver a bug free product at this pace. Things usually don't get ready to ship until 1 year after they can demo to people the pre production models at live fire. You simply need time to fine tune the product while working on setting up / testing the line, and making sure the subcontractors are delivering the parts.

Ya, I'm really impressed with my SRS. I'll be buying an MDR unless they come in stupid expensive.

eventually it stops being a joke and starts being that the company is a joke.
