When shopping for scope mounts for the SRS, make sure it’s 1.5” like previously mentioned. The rifle was designed around a 1.5” mount height. You can get away with lower mounts with a 50mm objective or especially with the new A2 that has the short rail, but you’ll end up with problems not being able to get your cheek low enough. I used to have an A1 covert with a 4902 Spuhr mount and a Delta Stryker 4.5-30x56 and it was a great set up. Foolishly sold it and now I have a full length A1 with a Bushnell XRSii 4.5-30x50 and went with a Near Alphamount. I highly recommend the Near mount because he’ll make any height and diameter that you want and he even makes a front cap now that accepts spuhr accessories if you need that feature. The Spuhr mounts are nice but the Near is even better in my opinion and you support a Canadian product.

Btt
I have one coming on Tuesday, left hand in "excellent" condition in 338 lapua and also 6.5X47 lapua from londero sports. This thing just kinda fell into my lap and 3 glasses of wine in the wife told me to go ahead and order, so obviously I did! Lol. Will report back then it's in my hands.

You’re gonna love it! Nice score

Nice, the A2 with the 18" 338 lapua barrel is what replaced my sako trg 42. Accuracy is as good if not better than the sako 27" barrel using factory match ammo.

I just got back from shooting it. I’m happy with the accuracy. The recoil and concussion weren’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Recoil is less than my 308 hunting rifle and that is with the two port A1 brake. I have the newer 3 port A2 brake now that is said to be way more efficient, just have not been out yet.

Concussion is barely noticeable to me, I could shoot it all day.

5 shot group. The shot on the right was the fouling shot.

At what distance?

My primary use is hunting, so I limit my shots on big game animals to 800yds with this caliber. The lower fps from the shorter barrel does not make it less accurate. But even at 800, the conditions have to be perfect for me to pull the trigger on an animal.

My friend still has his trg so I am talking about a direct comparison on the same day, same location with the same shooter and ammo
