Desperado from Ottawa

In the past 6 months or so I've had restricted transfers processed and approved in Ontario within a week. I've ordered pistols on a Monday and received them in the mail a week later, with the paperwork usually arriving 2 or 3 days later. If a transfer takes more than 2 weeks after the paperwork is submitted, I would call and talk to one of the nice ladies there.

What makes the LTATT long in Ontario these days are clubs that sit on the paperwork for months in an attempt to "batch them up". You'll find out when you call the CFO and they have no record of your application. Then you complain to the club folks, and magically your LTATT is ready in a week because the club finally faxed the paperwork.

Anyway wequar, welcome. I live near your range (near Crystal Bay Carling area) but for some ridiculous reason drive all the way to the EOHC in Larose Forest for my shooting enjoyment. And a Kimber for your first pistol? I hate you already :p

I have applied for a membership at NCRRA, hope things go fast and I get my LTATT soon. I am cosidering a kimber warrior desert. Any suggestions or reviews on kimber.

Well, before the gun you need to buy some patience. First, you need to become a NCRRA member. Once your membership is approved you need to spend some time at the range before NCRRA submits the application for your LTATT. This is done via snail mail so it takes time. You look at about 3 to 5 months from the moment you start to show up at the range and the moment you get the paper.

One more thing, try to make sure you get the club membership before ordering a handgun. It makes your life much easier...

I received an email saying my membership at ncrra is ready and i can come on saturday. Purchased Blaser R93 Luxus in 30-06 today.

How was the application process for the NCRRA? I used to be a member at EOHC before work took over my life and I let my membership expire (yes I'm a terrible person) Connaught is closer to my place aswell.

Edit: Welcome to the forum aswell :p

contact tony katz for the membership. download the form from ncrra.com, u will also find tony's number there. fill it and mail it with a cheque. they will contact u.
