Detachable magazines in hunting rifles...why?**Poll Added**

I like box magazines and prefer them to blind mags or hinged floorplates although it's like the colour of a vehicle when you're buying it: although it's important, it's not a deal breaker.
When changing hunting spots it's easy to drop the mag and swing a leg over the bike or jump in the truck and yes it's darned handy if a hatrack is standing on a hillside and a quick stalk and reload is warranted.
They're also quite handy at the range, make loading easier as well as the reality that some rifles now days just aren't meant to top load. Die-hard hinged floorplate guys remind me of sailboaters, they think they're the only ones doing it right... =]

Bull, H:S: I think I'd bet the whole farm on this one! If that F150 was powder pink when you got there, it would be a deal breaker, you'd walk! By the way, your buying it for yourself to drive as a daily driver, not for the lil Lady! And no repaints allowed!
 
The DM on the browning a-bolt is quite appealing to me. I know there's a few here that dislike it. I like it due to the fact that it doesnt protrude through the bottem of the rifle. It looks like a regular floorplate. On my micro medallion the floorplate is engraved and looks classy. On the seat of the truck with the floorplate open with the mag attached make it lightning fast, you can close the floorplate without even looking at it and not have to search for the mag that would otherwise be under gloves, binos or what ever else is on the seat. It works for me. I'll bet " Two Dogs" knows what Im talking bout. cheers

Oh yes, it is. I've had three red vehicles. I don't care for the colour in any case, and all of them have had suffered damage when parked. I won't have another.

oh yeah, you beta man, I hear ya! John M Browning & Co knew what a country boy wanted when they...... well, awe yeah, come to think of it, dems a mighty handy system for sure on the A-bolts, snap close the floor plate with loaded mag attached to it, and then just close the bolt, you set to go, for sure, and with power windows in the old Ram Charger, oh yeah, well what more can be said! I just can't figure out why some guys run the Browning A-bolt DM/floor plate system down into the dirt! can you? And no bino's required, man it only takes a fraction of a second to snatch that loaded mag off the open floor plate if and when needed to do so! I have a bunch of fine A-bolt Micro's, but I seem to favor my Browning BLR's for some weird reason! I know that is a bit of a handi-cap, but! By the way Pete, what cal you got there in your road hunter Micro?

From what I hear about it from the enforcers in this province, that's a loaded firearm in the vehicle, and that's illegal.

not being a dicky-dee here, but Mr Sun loves the color red, he turns it into pink after time. Remember the R Model Mack, red was the number one color they came in! 10 yrs later, they started looking pinkish!

Mag still on the outside off the action, bolt open, the mag is attached to the floorplate, which is open, is it elligal, probably, so is driving a vehicle while hunting without your seatbelts on. cheers!

I knew that would help save the bet, I didn't wanna loose the farm, first I had just said "the vehicle" then I figured I had better add some insurance on my side and changed it to the F-150! Never know when you may run into a tinkerbell! I hear ya, I wouldn't buy a FoMoCo either! :p
