I don't necessarily care if my 40 mag can fit a few extra rounds of 9mm and work. Don't get me wrong, I do do that occasionally. Those extra few bangs can be fun. What annoys me is the fact we have to use loopholes, workarounds, or whatever you call it to do these things. Why can't I have 17 rounds of 9mm in my Glock17? Those magazines exist, yet I'm stuck with ten, or thirteen if I use a loophole. Same with the ar15/LAR mags. Oh joy, I can legally shoot ten rounds instead of five. Ten? The average is thirty. Why can't I legally enjoy shooting thirty rounds out of my ar15 without having to change my mag 3 or 6 times? The loopholes in the law don't annoy me, it's the fact we have the law which frustrates me. As a law abiding citizen, I live by these rules. I don't want to, but surely don't want to give any ammunition to fuel the antigun politicians. So I won't own the illegal NORMAL capacity mag, but I will use the legal loopholes to allow me to shoot more rounds in my firearm without having to change the mag.

I've worked in Toronto doing construction. Some of my coworkers liked to get high during lunch, break or work. I did not, please don't accuse me. Some of the dealers would come to the site and sell. And some of those dealers sold guns and high/normal capacity mags. It's not that hard to illegaly obtain high/normal capacity mags. The criminals won't care if their 33 capacity mag is illegal. The criminals won't care if their f###ing firearm is illegal. That's what makes them criminals, they don't care. We responsible firearm owners care, which is sadly why we also tolerate these laws to a point. Do you know what this means? It means that we legal and responsible firearm owners can be trusted with the 33 round pistol mag, or the 100 round drum rifle mag. We have no intention nor will we ever use the mags and the guns in a crime. The criminals will, and likely already own them.
