Diemaco SA Rifle Pics - post 'em here

Did anybody here put a simon sleeve on their IUR like the Diemaco logo yet?

You would need to cut the barrel. The area of the barrel where a simon sleeve slips over is thinner.

Then you'd have to manufacture a simon sleeve. Going through the trouble for that since the rail covers it is... pointless.

Quests international it's the spikes tactical CAR-1 barrel shroud it can screw on forwards or backwards over the barrel

Well I guess I'll finally play as finally found triads and norgon ambi mag releases that weren't grossly over priced, thank you, you know who you are. Still need a CH & BCG for the immaculate blemished upper that sits on enhanced lower that I switched out the green furniture for black.

Well done man love the bottom pic

If you rub a little bit of oil on your SA20 handguard by the D-ring it will turn the same colour green as the rest of it and you won't have that bright ring at the base. For what it's worth, if you care about that sort of thing.

I thought I posted pictures of my shorty but guess not. A while ago I bought a Stag Arms 10.3in N8 and needed a lower, so I ended up picking up a stripped lower and threw it on. Also took the M5 RAS off the SA20 and reverted to the original green handguards. Family photo:

Just got close to completing a couple of builds and thought it would be cool to show the difference between North and South. Not an exact comparison as the Colt is an A4 and the Diemaco is a C7A1 clone, but cool all the same in a side by side comparison.

Nice comparison, with one exception. There was never an issue non-collapsible butt stock in green..... the green furniture was introduced with the C7A2 which is also when the collapsible butt stocks were introduced.

Thanks for the heads up.
I did know that the C7/A1 did have black furniture but heard when the A2 was released the black furniture was just painted green to match the new issue rifles. I heard the paint held up pretty well. Maybe some other guys can chime in from around the country with their input. Not saying you are not right but I wonder if different regiments did some things differently. I'd love to hear some input as part of the fun of collecting and using this stuff is the stories that go along with it.
Thanks in advance!

My unit went through the transition maybe a year and a half or so after I joined, don't recall seeing any painted hand guards or stocks. I remember doing my first BFT with the A1s with all black furniture and by the time I did my BMQ, they were all A2s.

Either way, nice comparison pic you got there :)

I wonder if someone could answer these questions as well. Sorry, just want to make the C7A1 the best clone it can be!

Did the C7/A1 have a fore grip, if so what type? Did CF's retro fit it with the Tri-Ad?

Thanks again!

The grip was an add on after the C7A2 mid-life program.

Here's a shot of the C7A1 in case you're looking for a photo:

Thanks guys for the wealth of info.

So am I correct in thinking the green furniture, ambi-charging handle, ambi-safety, ambi-mag release and tri-ad all came with the C7A2?

Just realized where I got my painted hand guard info. Looks like I read it off of the C7/C8 clone thread while I was doing some research.

mine was just like the one pictured; black, no BUIS, no triad and nothing ambi... and thermold mags. uniform was plain OD back then too ;)
