Having talked with a few natives myself (who call themselves Indian by the way), I inquired about the Eskimo/Inuit debate. It would seem they are pretty interchangeable and freely used. As mentioned, it's all about context. Inuit can be used in a demeaning derogatory way as well.
As with all these PC things.. it's just the flavour of the week. I'd be willing to bet that in 20 years Inuit will be considered derogatory and it will be replaced by some other PC word... and the cycle will continue.
Im curious... are the people complaining about the issue in this thread Inuit themselves? If not, stop your whining.
As for IPSC in the far north... I hope it gets started! The more shooters the better.
