Do You Love Glocks Or Hate Glocks, And Why?

i like them even in stock form. if i had to put my life on the line with only a side arm , the ''guardian''' would be a glock,a no brainer.

i love them even more fully modified ,and the best part is they keep their reliability even highly pimped. performance parts are everywhere.

Simple, effective, reliable. The ergonomics work great for me. That being said, because Canada isn't a handgun carry country, big wheel guns are my 1 handeder of choice. For work or carry, give me a Glock. Yes, I have used it for both.

Hmm the Glock
It's a tough one, a reliable one
It's more accurate than me, It's a fun gun.
It's reasonably cheap Although the trigger does creep
Black blocky grips really heat up in the sun.

The Gaston gun is ugly, it's mean, fat where 1911 is lean.
I hate it. I want it , I can't quantify it
Copies from the old guard are winning like Charlie Sheen.

The Glocks really safe when pointed not at your foot
Thoes Austrians say a lever on the trigger is "gut"
No thumb safty there on this Tupperware
A touch of the finger delivers a hole edged in soot

Sneer at the Glock if you choose it won't care
The hard plains of the slide so flat and so bare
With police or a gang It will always go "bang"
The hands make the weapon if you want to be fair.

My daily shooter is an m&p love the 1911 and at least one revolver comes with me to the range. Whenever I pick up the G17 I'm going 10 for 10. Definitely more love then hate for them.

Don 't like Glocks much because they dont' feel good to me, nor can I shot them well. They are, however, 100% safe if you operate them properly, like any other firearm.

I like Glocks because the naturally shoot well for me, trigger reset is nice. I don't like the ergonomics, it's too square in my hands but I can get over that I'm sure. I don't own one but I would have no qualms about owning one, they are great pistols.

My Glock17 comes out on every shooting session.

Target acquisition is fast and it points naturally (yeah I'm one of those made for the "glock grip"). I have owned a bunch of other pistols but I shoot my Glock17 bettwr than all my others handguns.

Simple, effective and proven design. No need for a manual safety before it gets mentionned

Used to hate them, now I love them. Gen4 really are what made me a glock fan, but I had gen2's and gen3's before as well.

hey fit well in my hand (gen4), good texture, light, reliable, shoot well, easy to clean with few parts so they're easy to work on. its a proven gun with a long history, unlike some of the new ones that pop up here and there.

Does the Toyota Corolla get the same fan support as the Glock? It's the Glock of the car world after all. Reliability before beauty. Or maybe beauty through reliability..?
The Glock fan-boys do seem to be quite rabid, but hey, whatever floats your boat for paper punching. For polymer, I prefer steyr. Fits my hand better.
But I really prefer the quality of old, steel guns. Same as I prefer the quality of old hand tools. They may or may not function as well, but they are a lot more interesting, and they are all just toys for us.
If I lived in the U.S., or was in the military, my needs and opinions would likely be different.

I know that I said that I would try to just sit back and listen, but this is off the topic, and not correct.
To be clear, I did NOT express an opposing view simply to be contrary.
I wasn't trolling, as you accuse me of.
I simply stated my opinion as I saw it.
It's what I believe.
And, I did NOT attack those that disagreed with me.
I simply offered a rebuttal to their arguments.
What I DID do wrong was to respond with a detailed rebuttal to just about all who offered an opposing opinion.
I should have just let it go with a couple of replies.
Read the thread if you like. IMHO I attacked no one. I just argued my position, and that resulted in anger, which was a complete surprise to me.

While it is true that I don't like Glocks, that doesn't matter at all.

I am interested in YOUR opinions about Glocks.

I just want to hear them and I am not going to comment on them.

So, please allow the discussion to continue without being derailed.

Uh...so nothing about Nuns? I'm confused. (and have a lot to say about Nuns.)

When I first started looking at handguns, Glock was last on my list, just thought they were square, blocky, and plain looking, I had no interest in owning one. I have only ever held one Glock, and I have to admit I shot it very well, and it felt great in my hand. Since that time, I find myself looking at them more often and my opinion of them has changed dramatically, lol. I find I am more and more attracted to the look of them, and have no doubt I will own one at some point,,,,,,,,, hopefully soon :)

With my name, I assume that you know my answer ;)

Seriously a accidental discharge isn't the same thing as a negligent discharge.

Glock aren't the best pistols but they are simple, easy to maintain, reliable, inexpensive, enough accurate for a service pistol and light. For me the ergonomy is ok but it isn't the same for everybody.

Nowadays there is a lot of striker pistols that are comparable to glocks just thinks of MP, SFP9,PPQ...... I think the reason why glock are so popular is because of their sales team with LEO and Military. They are doing a very good job and I know that their prices a way under what we pay as civilians. It create a kind of hype around it when a pistol is so popular with them, just like AR15 in the states.

Overall it's a good pistol but it's not the best pistol depending on the intended use.....

I can't abide any of the guns that has the safety on the trigger, I find it distracting. I'm an old guy and to be honest I prefer cocked and locked (I love my Hk 45 because it offers that option. not that it actually matters up here although my P7 is a never sell gun too). Also how a gun looks also comes into play. Face it, this is a hobby, I'm not a cop, soldier or anything else that carries a gun for a living. I like a good quality firearm that is pleasing to look at. They may be just a tool, but all my work tools are high end too

Sure, they're cool. I drank the Kool Aid as a new shooter own a G17 4. Kinda ambivalent about them, actually. Probably be the first gun I sell from my collection. Now if I could get my hands on a G18....

I've tried many and never liked them. Only one of several dozen I've shot was accurate to my standards of my ability. To me they're uglier then mossbergs adjustable plastic zombie lever action 30/30 and that's ugly. The fit and feel is off for me. The safety isn't an issue for me. It's everything else that makes a handgun feel or look right to me just isn't found in or on the glock. It's like a Toyota prius showing up at hot import nights for me. Sorry to dis your prize glock lovers but they're just not 1911 ###y
