Do You Love Glocks Or Hate Glocks, And Why?

Ok, back to Glocks. I like them.

Reasons:

  • low bore axis = (for me, at least) a low perceived recoil and lack of muzzle jump/flip
  • lack of external safety is one less thing to worry about
  • simple to maintain
  • reliable
  • affordable
  • ergonomically, they seem to fit my hand as though they were designed specifically for me
  • for whatever reason, I seem to shoot Glocks better than any other gun I've tried.
  • All of that being said, I still prefer my HK45LEM. And there are other handguns I like as much as I like Glocks.

Just not a handgun I can utilize. I carry several different ways(shoulder, ankle, inside body armor, duty holster, off duty holster and waist band carry with no holster and rubber bands on grip)

So I'm not likely to be a consumer of their product. So count me as a Glock hater I guess.

A gen2 G17 was my first semi-auto. I tried to hate it because I thought it was so ugly, however I shot it well and I loved everything other than the looks. I ended up selling it, but I've been regretting it, so I just purchased a G17 gen4. :)

Neither love nor hate. The ergonomics don't work for me. Lots of people love them though so they must be good guns. Glock owners on the other hand............ Lol just kidding.

I was a steel gun kind of guy. I recently got a Glock 17. Strangely, I like it. Guilty pleasures...

You mean: 'Couldn't care less'

Jim the English to colonials teacher!

Ahem..."couldn't care less" is a double negative. The inference being the individual does care because he couldn't care less. Therefore, nowarningshot is correct with his sentence structure if the inference was that the OP doesn't in fact care..."could care less." :p

(BTW, just let me know if the thread is changing to English teachers 'K? I have more to say about them than I do about Nuns! ;))

I think they're ugly in OEM form, but look great with a little work done to them.

My only gripe is that I dislike the takedown procedure in comparison to my Sig. I really hate having to pinch those stupid little tabs instead of using a nice, simple takedown lever.

You know, there's something kinda interesting going on in this thread:

It's kinda like gun control:

10% Are all for it, To the maximum, all the time
10% Are all against it, No way, Not in my back yard, nuh-uh.
80% Are basically neutral.

Personally, I could run a Glock if I had to. No problem. I can hit with it, they run, I'm familiar enough with the platform to run it effectively.

I'm just sick to death of the 10% pro-Glock-heads telling me how fantastically wonderfully awesome their choice of firearms is. Gawd! I get it! Enough! No 5.11 pants are not appropriate at a wedding!!! Stop it already!

I would even go to the point of saying buying a Glock is silly. If I want to practice with a Glock, every range in the world has at least one, and if they don't, someone there will *force you* to shoot theirs if you express the slightest interest in the creation of Gaston.

Join the CZ revolution! :D

Glock = point and click absolute simple reliability.
Not my first choice but it is on my list of guns that I would depend on coming out of my waistband or armpit.
Glock 19 hard to beat.

Absolutely incorrect - the inference is that you do not care and therefore 'could NOT care any less'. If you say 'I could care less' it infers that you do in fact care a little about the subject matter. The correct phrase is 'I could not care less'. This is one of my biggest pet gripes about you colonials and the way you speakee the lingo, innit?

Cheers,

Drivel...I suggest that the "proper" terminology ought to be used. I believe "could care less", and "couldn't care less" to be really bad ways of stating one's indifference. I am indifferent or I don't care is "proper" I believe.

I love glocks for their simplicity and aftermarket parts. I have shot many, but never owned one. Ergonomics and factory trigger are always a letdown.

I have HK VP9 and PPQ Navy ... exceptional ergos and triggers right out of the box. Can't justify buying a glock + $ on mods to get it to the level of the two I've already mentioned.

But it's proper, innit. 'Couldn't care less' is grammatically correct English which is socially acceptable. Your last sentence is drivel - it makes no sense.

Fixed it for you and what is an innit? Either way; no, it is not correct. What it is, is ambiguous in it's meaning. Indifferent (or select another of its synonyms) is the proper word.
