Don't use your truck door to steady your T97

f:P: CGN Nannies and liberal legal whiner trolls trying to stick it in the back of a fellow members and shooters on a public forum. This crap is getting out of hand here on the forum.

As long as both feet are on Terra Firma it's not a problem as the OP's was. Now taking a shot at game while touching a vehicle that is another issue all together.

If your sitting inside and shooting out a window or out a sun roof etc then this is a big problem.

Wow took this long for someone to mention this, the wannabe misguided safety nazi arm chair lawyers are one of the things I hate about this forum.

I know a guy that leaned across the hood of his buddy's truck shooting targets and the blast from his .300 blew off the windscreen on the front of the hood lol.

Exactly what i was thinking. They are the same that apply for a SATT to go take a piss in the wood while at the range.

Many moons ago I knew someone who took a shot at a gopher with their .223 and vaporized their driver side mirror. As I recall it scared the living #### of them.

Not in Ontario. And I don't think anybody is trying to stick it to anyone. It's just a "Huh!" Moment.

Please point out in the criminal code or firearms act etc etc where it is illegal to touch a vehicle while discharging a firearm target shooting. And not the made up laws by a CFO who is over stepping the government of this country and making his or her own laws. The CFO is not in charge of making laws just enforcing those set by our government.

Ha!
It was raining one time at the pits so stood under my SUVs open hatch and was firing. Then I remembered about the ejection and the window that was above me after 10 or 15 rounds.
Lucky for me the rifle ejects at 2:00 and not 12:00 so they bypassed the hatch.

I never said it contravened the criminal code. However, COs tend to be pretty strict about "loaded firearm in a motor vehicle" interpretations. I don't think you'd find anyone here willing to challenge a CO, investigating officer or the CFO on this. However, it is easy to do so from behind a keyboard. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but that's life as an Ontario shooter.

Truck shut off, door open, window down and two feet on the ground shooting cardboard boxes on private property no laws broken there. I tried to get some pictures but they don't show up very goon on my iPhone. Just picture 8 silver dollar sized spiderwebs right in your field of view. Good thing I work in Sask and my window was already smashed up from rocks.

Amen, I'm getting tired of the safety Nazis who think they know everything... like when I posted a pic of my shotgun with shells in the side saddle and at least two people freaked at me for having a loaded gun in my house.... Seriously no joke.

I don't know if these people are trolls or they seriously think they know it all have want to lord it over everyone... but one thing is for sure, they need to GET A LIFE

Exactly my point. Nobody seems to be able to understand from the OP you were standing outside the vehicle.

Fired my 1st muzzeloader from the top of my Mazda 323 without taking into account that the muzzle didn't clear the roof. Learned not to do that again. It did actually buff out though, almost.

My first car was a 93 Mazda 323 those things a tanks never let me down once
(Mechanically) body rotted out so out to pasture it went

Took 2 slugs to do the motor in was quite surprised

Many, many years ago I was able to convince the local police department to participate in a club shotgun/pistol match.
One stage had a brand new police car parked on the range such that the shooters were required to shoot around the vehicle.
Light bars were on during the stage but time has dulled the memory as to the use of its siren..

Target positioning was such that the front of the car remained intact. Rear trunk/bumper suffered significant powder scorching when a couple of participants didn't lean far enough from the vehicle when engaging near targets. Single ported shotgun was used by everyone to shoot the stage.

Trunk lid buffed out with some sort of miracle cloth provided to the police by a participant - powder burns on plastic bumper did not.
Not sure how the attending officers explained the damage to the new vehicle when they returned it to the compound......

Problem with this forum is the people who thrive on correcting everyone else by pointing out perceived mistakes and implied lack of judgment. They get off on it, and likely do it in real life too, which alienates them in their social circle. Unbeknownst to them.

"Janice will never notice"
that's awesome.

Never got to meet the guy, he passed when my wife was still in school but he's something of a family legend. Showed up drunk to a winter gathering with a pair of splintery wooden skis and bet money that no one could knock him off a rope on the back of a skidoo. The old farmers promptly towed him out onto a ploughed field and bounced him around for half an hour. He won the bet even though one of the skis shattered in the first five minutes. Legendary.
