The way you mesure your paint is OK, you can also use a graduated glass cylinder, the one you give medic for children, they are 4$ for 2 at the drugstore use one for the hardner and one for the paint.

I just whant you to save time and money my friend, the factory stainless from remington is not rough enough, they apply a coating over the factory stainless for more rust protection... If you sand blast it correctly, it will be dark grey, i have just blasted and painted a other R5 this morning, also, I have BIG DOUBT that the blass bead are strong enough to remove this coating...
At least, do a small surface test, like under the barrel hidden by the stock, if you let it like that, you will be able to remove the paint with your nail !!!! don belive me, try it.
