Easiest to clean semi-auto?

I'd think the newer AR .22 uppers would be in the running :D. Typical AR take down, pull out the bolt and you can clean the barrel from the breach. At least for a field strip it should be pretty easy.

Another trick for cleaning semis, especially pistols is to use G96 on them and give it a few days to soak into the metal. Then use some oil like you normally would. The carbon just wipes off after that, and usually doesn't need any scrubbing.

I like old Mossbergs like 152 models - you do not have to remove barrel, just unscrew rear cap and pull the guts out. No need to re-sight after each cleaning. Too bad they don't make those anymore.

X2! The 51, 151 & 152 series Mossbergs are a walk in the Park to clean. Regards, Eagleye.

My Mossberg 151M is probably the easiest. The end of the receiver unscrews so you can pull out the bolt assembly, and then clean the barrel from the chamber end. Turn it upside down and hose the inside of the action out with cleaner, and you're back in business. The barrel is threaded to the receiver so you never need to resight the scope.

the only .22 semi i own is my rem 597 its not impossible to clean but its not a simple job.... easy enough to clean if you dont remove the guide rails just clean in place.....everyone who has removed their 597 guide rails knows how fun those springs are:)
