A little while back I came across the receipt for the Breda M1 I had for a while. I paid $220 for it from Wholesale Sports. You are right I miss the days when a nice Garand was $1200.00

It’s exactly the same, people thinking that their rust bucket is worth big bucks because they saw a mint example sell at barret Jackson. AND, like this thread attests, those that Ian them think they are pure gold and buyers think that the owner OWES them a deal. I come across guns and classic cars all the time that are on my wish list but the seller wants WAY too much (IMO). I just move on.The car market is the same,....absolute garbage for super high prices.
I call it stupid money and it is everywhereI come across guns and classic cars all the time that are on my wish list but the seller wants WAY too much
Same here.On occasion I have spent stupid money, bought something at a too-high price, but had to have it instead of waiting
Better to smile now than to frown forever
I have over spent for stuff that I just wanted. It is worth whatever someone is Will to sell it for AND what someone is willing to pay so those items that I spent a lot in, WERE worth that price…. To me. I have passed on MUCH more because it wasn’t worth the price TO ME but someone else did buy it so……..I call it stupid money and it is everywhere
some have too much to really care about what they spend, in general or on specifics, so they imo buy stupid

If we start a new thread for every stupid thing we see, we'd all be employed for life. Who cares?

Youre saying you don't care about the price some dumbass sets for a piece of crap, you just like talking? You mean like bear defense threads in the hunting rifle forum? Reality is, as gun owners, we like to shoot the sh!t about stuff.
you have a long memory. Glad I have mine as the premium seems higher on these owing to Browning not producing them any longerI'd like to try a BLR but remember them to be 650 , now guys want $1200.
There comes a point when you have a large enough collection you can rotate through it and it's like getting new guns every month. Is price really that important... if you really want it... we all know most of us are beyond help.
Heaven knows I've tried to cut back.
Tell ya from experience...
Don't go thinking "I'll just avoid looking at the EE, G unPost and TownPost this month... that will save me lots of $$."
Come the next month...you'll make some crazy choices.
And sometimes you find a gun you forgot about. About 8 years ago I was buy Lee Enfields with plans to restore them. Put a couple away behind other rifles. Last fall I found two #1 mk3‘S that I hadn’t been written down in my book. There comes a point when you have a large enough collection you can rotate through it and it's like getting new guns every month.
I resemble that remark.Once in a while I find something cool I'd forgotten in the gun room. Was about to make an offer on a scope the other day then happened to find the exact same scope in a box up on a shelf in the gun room. Nice to find but makes me question the state of my memory.

Some of those older boomers with dementia only need one gun, and for them it's like a new one every day.View attachment 883218
That's why I keep most in rifle socks... it's like opening a new present every time!!
