The US military wanted ARMS mounts on them. That's why they have them. The US military doesn't like the Larue ones because it marks the upper receiver up.

I'm first going to do a few basic comparisons between the 5 optics. Starting with weight. Using my wife's weight watcher's scale from the kitchen, here's what they weigh:
646 g Elcan Specter DR 1-4
681 g Millet DMS-1
656 g Elcan C-79 (Gen IV)
706 g L2A2 Sight Unit Infantry Trilux
1077 g Telescope Sighting No 32 Mk III
I read about all the problems with the arms mount and still took a chance on them. Not a problem it fits great on mine. Although I haven't used this as much as I'd like I am still really impressed with the Elcan. Used to have an aimpoint but I love the additional magnification of the spectre.

I didnt have any mounting issues with mine. The weight sounds heavy until you compare it with a scope and mount (so many people seem to forget that when looking at weight)

If the ARMS mount doesn't "fit" your AR properly, then your receiver is likely the problem... This optic was designed for the military, and adapted for the civilian market. The Military uses Colt/Diemaco spec rifles, not Norinco.
Kudos on the great build Wingsuit - looks great and I'm sure that it functions just as great!
