Great info. I assume this is their results at 50m?
So for that big list, double those numbers to get the group diameter for 68% of the shots, then double it again to cover 2 standard deviations for approx 95% of the shots.
Thanks for the correction!39% land within 1xRSD, 86% land within 2xRSD, and 99% land within 3xRSD. The 68/95/99.7 rule is for a single variable like x, and it is 39/86/99 for two variables like x/y.
What is the height of the ram? I have had drops of several inches with Eley Sport.
But I'll try it in December.
do you mean flyers or outliers that are inches from the main group? @100?
How much are you buying to where shipping changes your mind? You quite often get free shipping with gotenda after you pass $300. They've had Eley Club on for the same price as Sport for quite a while now, too. Sometimes targetshootingproducts beats them even after you factor in shipping, at least when you're talking about buying by the case.
Pasting from another thread with info from Eley's current product brochure.
Eley actually lists the expected shot radius SD for all their ammo in their brochure, removing the need for any speculation as to which one should be better. Just don't forget, in every case it still matters whether or not a particular lot number gets along with your gun.
Tenex 3.75 mm
Tenex Pistol 4.05 mm
Tenex Biathlon 4.50 mm
Match 4.74 mm
Match Pistol 4.90 mm
Semi-Auto Benchrest Precision 4.90 mm
Team 5.50 mm
Club 5.50 mm
Biathlon Club 5.50 mm
Sport 7.00 mm
Target 7.00 mm
Bullseye Pistol X 7.00 mm
Contact 7.00 mm
Force 7.00 mm
Semi-Auto Benchrest Outlaw 7.00 mm
And for these few rounds they list Max MG, or maximum mean group size.
Tenex Rapid Fire Pistol 20 mm
High Velocity Hollow 30 mm
Subsonic Hollow 43 mm
So that gives you Eley's expectations from their test barrels, anyway. Shows how their whole product line is ranked.
Do any of the other big brands provide a breakdown like this? I'm a numbers guy, so I really like seeing it broken down like this rather than just "X is better than Y which is better than Z..."
Wow, yeah, $82 for shipping 2 bricks is absolutely insane. I paid $115 shipping for 21 bricks back in August (2 cases and one mixed brick for lot testing), and $96 for 10 bricks about a month after that. But that's to Vancouver Island from targetshootingproducts in Toronto. I guess the more you buy the more it spreads the cost out. I'm still surprised it is free shipping from some places sometimes, heh.
Club was only $99.99 on Oct 20 . . . online ammo ALL GONE NOW -11PM Atl.
