Exciting new SKS Picatinny Scope rail

Thats ok but you think you could spend some time on that sarcastic attitude? I feel I didnt get a product worth what I paid for it, Thats my opinion and im entitled to it.
You are of course entitled to your opinion. As I said previously, Canadians demand a certain wage. The manufacturer will likely be going off shore soon enough, but he hoped some people would feel that making them in Canada would be important enough to pay a premium.

And I absolutely get that but generally when I buy a Canadian product not only am I supporting Canadian jobs but I am also geting a superior product and thus worth the premium. Anyway that is just my opinion on the matter.

What do you find inferior on this item?

Honestly, it's a cool rail' n all, and i want one, but it is pretty pricey for what it is. If it was $60-$70, i'd buy one no questions asked. It's worth almost as much as the gun it goes on...That being said, CanAm is still friggin awesome!

ive heard nothing but bad things about scope mounts and their ability to hold zero for the sks due to the bolt smashing back. Has this been tested for keeping zero? If it does id definitely get one.

I don't have an issue with the price. I like supporting CDN made products. The only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of any instructions. When you are paying $130 one would expect some. The manufacturer could have easily done one up in an hour or two and so could have CA being the distributor. To me that's very poor.

Anyway here is my unissued 1954 Izhevsk that I picked up for $260. Yes I refinished the stock and I am sure some of you will say I have messed up the rifle! But It's mine and I have it how I like it. It's a $260 rifle for god sake! What other people think I DON"T CARE!

I sighted mine in last night at 100 yrs and put 100 rounds down the pipe. I then cleaned the rifle including flipping up the rail. I plan to shoot it again this weekend so I will keep you posted.

Those whining about the price are utterly clueless to the machining trade. $129 is a great deal for what you are getting. However, steel would be best (in my opinion) as it better matches the ruggedness and design/construction of the SKS. I fear that the durability of such a long and thin aluminum strut is somewhat questionable. Perfectly adequate for a range gun, but I would much prefer steel for something that may see some rough and tumble.

I am told that steel construction would triple the machining time and the price and add considerably to the weight.

How did the rifle shoot? did it hold zero through the shooting? Please do post after your weekend shooting, and commment on the zero holding.
Thanks for your efforts.

That is the million dollar question. We need a unbiased opinion. I agree about the steel thing but like the man said no real stress on it. Now will it hold up over a few thousand shots?
