I find if very comfortable stock as well. The most comfortable black rifle I've held. That's why I bought it, but like anything else, things can be approved upon.

As for your mount, you could probably buy a sling mount, say a picitinny one, and grinf it down to the curvature of the hand guard, then take a self tapping screw with loctite, and screw in from the inside.

I actually find the end of the forearm to be very comfortable on my MR1. i wrap my hand under the sling loop with my thumb sitting in the curvature of the front sight ear. I just need to devise a forward sling mount on the LH side just infront of the action.

I added an AFG to my rifle because of how hot the forearm can get during use. After a couple of hundred rounds I had to put it down because of the heat. With the AFG I can just keep shooting.

I've never had issues holding it, but I would agree that it gets hot. One of the downside of this rifle for sure.
