I just set the PAR times on my timer to what ever time I'm trying to measure against.
Then you're just a slave to the beeps!

Wow! That's an excellent time Bob! Thanks for posting.Shot this evening:
Best Time 5.37 seconds
Pistol: M&P PRO 5 inch
Holster: Blade Tech
Cover Garment: Woolrich Elite Series Vest from IDPA Store
Caliber: 9MM 124 gr Lyman 356402 Bullets 135 PF
Both draw and reload need a lot of work. Mostly the reload as draw times is dependent on first shot at the 3 x 5 card. Slow and smooth = Fast time . I got the first part right, a little rough on the smooth. I may try my .40 PRO next time as it has a small magwell on it. Might help with my inept reloads.
Take Care
Bob
That's a good way to do it. I didn't realize that you could adjust the sensitivity on the smart phone apps.I will try that for the reloads. I got a bit smarter tonight and set the sensitivity up and just treated the draw noise as the first shot and the dry fire shot as the second one. Man, am I slow...

don't practice for the FAST by practicing the FAST. Practice all the stuff that is part of the FAST, then run the FAST to confirm your training.
is it against the rules to dryfire practice the fast? I know its not more than 3 times per day but dont remember if he addresses dryfire
I know TG says that but I keep reading posts where he does more than three FAST's in one session. I could care less, he invented the test, but it does make it a bit confusing.
First mistake is sweeping the garment cover away. Don't, just draw your gun, a covered draw and an open draw should be damn near the same time. Blade your hand and just grab the gun. Same goes for reloads.
