factory ammo

Or- "I mostly hunt with my 308, but when I go for moose and really want to knock them down, I use my 3006!"

:D:D

I knew a few hunters, they used 308 and 3006 for target shooting, but when they went for big game hunting they load a 300WM bullet for there rifles.:D:D

.223
.243
30-06

This lineup makes sense.....

223 is winning in the varmint category......

243 to 7 Mag in the middle makes sense to me...

and a 30 or 338 cal magnum on the top end..

some guys will go bigger on the top end like 375 H&H etc.....factory ammo is a bit pricey and this post was about factory ammo...but we all know it will work.

If I do cut back on reloading I'll be going with 223...have three of them right now.....

one of my big sevens, have 2 7mm Rem Mags, two 7mm STWS's and a 7mm Wtby to shoose from...unless I go with the 270....

a 300 Winny will round out the top end...just cuz I have a new stainless barrel that I can put into one of the 7 Mags..:D

back to Crashman........

Is there a lot of .22-250 Ackley ammo out your way? :p

Just curious, buddy. :D And BTW I left you a voice mail.

If the middle rifle will be a full size sporter and not a lightweight, I'd go with a 223, 270 and a 338.

Earlier when I went with 223, 7-08 and 300Win it was because the middle rifle was a backpack gun, and the 300 would be used for open field deer in addition to the big stuff. No sheep rifle? Then it's 223, 270/280/7mag and a 338.

And you don't need the 338... ;)
