Fake Can/Suppressor - Illegal?

I still hate you and your business prohibited devices license.

Thats fine, your standing invitation to come and help me test has been .... REVOKED! :kickInTheNuts:

And seeing as I just spent $3000 on a sound meter I am gonna be doing lots of testing before the snows arrive. :slap:

I am also in the middle of a redesign on both the 9mm and 45 ACP pistol cans. so they will also need to be tested.

Me thinks it may take quite a lot of :adult: to get you back on the approved helper list.

Just to rub it in .... here are a couple of real ones ..... real quiet that is.

i had one on my AR and people wouldnt leave me alone at the RANGE! every 5 min someone would come up and say " is that real you know there illeagle right" mean while all they had to do is STFU and listen to me shoot. i took it off because i didnt want the hassle at the range. + it made my group go from a nice 1 1/2 10 shot group at a 100 to a 2 1/2".

I was going through this thread, and there seems to be some missing (deleted) posts, and some angry members, WTF?
Also whats the deal with the real suppressors, can you actually own those in Canada?

well i know it isnt on a precision rifle but i got it finally...

it is 100% not real.. does not suppress sound at all... more directs the sound down range but other than that.. no difference

It looks like you are using set screws to 'shroud' or 'sleeve' this over the barrel. won't you be scratching up the barrel finish?

i've dabbled with fake suppressors. they absolutely do nothing for recoil except make it lick monkey balls. since this is in the precision rifle's section, I'll assume that recoil won't be any worse in a bolt action vice something that normally has a break on it.

They were cool while you want one. once you have one, and fielded it once or twice, its not so cool anymore. I've since sold them. Kinda like wanting to eat breakfast for dinner (sausage, bacon, pancakes, eggs, toast...). But once you do, you wish you didn't.

it does have set screws to shroud the barrel.. and yes it does scratch the barrel.. i do not intend on taking this off though.. i tested it out today and the suppressor came loose after 1 mag (25 rounds) so i loctited it on, hopefully will make a difference.

i didnt need it for recoil since its a .22, this was originally in the precision rifle section because i was going to do this to my 700 tactical, but got a brake instead for it.. it looks cool, adds some necessary weight to the rifle (to make it seem like an actual AR) when i tested it out today for the first time it actually came off after a mag, so i loctited the screws and hopefully will make a difference.
