Have been saying this for years.
It's nice to finally see even the media knows there is an epidemic of fake Chinese boady armour and medical supplies being sold by gear shops in Canada
And yes I agree the suppliers should be held a countable for it!!

This is why my group of companies manufacturers right here in Canada. And we vet the background of evey vendor we have.
People's lives depend on it.

Oh, me and my friends were telling ppl not to buy Chinese here in Canada, and some bought and some shipped it. And everything that we tested failed miserably.

The bigger issue is not the straight up China mart plates .
It's the lieing canadian company's rebranding Chinese armour as canadian.
Also a few doing it with so called uk made aemour.
A gear store in Vancouver in 2020 got caught selling fake CAT 7 TQ. After winning a bid to supply legit NAR cat 7

Are you suggesting like 19.99 wish body armor isn't real?

Not to start a fight but don't you sell uncertified armor plates ?
Nope the plates are NIJ certified.
We are just doing recertification under our brand Aratech
Since we took over the previous company.
Same equipment same machines. Same protocol Same suppliers.
We have the plates at NIJ for the full NIJ testing g it was almost 18 months wait.
Just wanting of the offical certificate so we can post that.
But a big difference between. Rebranded Chinese armoir and make in North America plates.
We are 2 year ans a million dollars in so far.

I know of someone that regrets badly for purchasing a nice looking tourniquet which failed miserably when needed.
You don't fool around with such kind of gear.

Interesting someone identified that these plates appear to be sold be a site dealer here.

And this is why I know my post hold little to no value on thus issue as people like you will think it's about bashing the competition.
But it's not .
I'm guessing you have never served so you may not understand.
It,s not about the money

Lol what? That escalated quickly, just thought it was interesting that they appear to be the same.

While you do bring in good stuff few years ago you almost brought in Chinese helmet thinking it was being manufactured in US until people told you they were not. Well in the end you did listen and brought something else in so that was a good job

If the suppliers paid 9.99 for these armour plates, they know exactly what they are buying. The problem is these businesses in Canada are rebranding them as high quality armour plates.

You're typing like my ex landscaper so I'm going to give you a pass because you were probably typing on the sauce, but the guy didnt say anything to warrant this cringey disgruntled vet response. He was just saying these plates in question seem to be sold by a site sponsor. Furthermore if you feel like the actions of these people is criminal (knowingly selling faulty safety equipment is criminal) you should NAME THEM so we can avoid them cheers.

As long as it’s clear I had no ill will it’s cool. What’s also interesting again I’m just saying it’s interesting. It’s possible the bullet may not have gone through but just what occurs when the plates are steel, from what shown it may be interpreted as the bullet spalling and going through the unprotected edge.
