I voted 22-250 because it is the jack of all trades...

I also have and use the following for coyotes;

204 Ruger
223
6mm-284

I have a older 26" barreled 22-250 that I have been dreaming of rechambering to 22-243 for years just can't decide if I need to do it or not so it is a safe queen for now.

My vote goes to the 357 Magnum in a handy little carbine !
110 grain XTP's will take the fight right outta them I'd imagine :onCrack:

:D:D:D:D I can tell you that a 357 in a handy carbine works very well:D:D:D:D

Except I used 158gr XTP's cause my Marlin loves them. Even magpies and crows seem to die:)

My go to cowote rifle is a .204 though, I like 40gr v max's and 35gr Bergers. but I am by no means a coyote pro.

i use my savage 24 in .22 hornet/12 gauge. never had them get close enough for the shotgun barrel but the hornet whacks em' with a 35gr hornady. not super fast but works just fine out to about 150. don't trust myself with the irons past that

I'm heading out to Alberta in a couple of days so I went to the gun club today to do a final check on my 22-250 & 6mm-284...

Holy cow... I'm thinking my old 6mm-284 is my favorite coyote round again... it is so accurate .310 BC 70gr Ballistic Tips @ 3600fps...

Need to try RL17 in it next to see if I can get another 100fps or so...

I chose .223 because of cost primarily. If not for the price of ammo, I would go with the .22-250. I love the way it goes "thwap" when it contacts the target.

Shoot most of my coyotes with a .222 Rem launching a 40 grain Ballistic Tip. It's quiet, flat shooting, and I have yet to see a coyote do anything except promptly die when hit. And unless a hit is somewhere around the edges, pelt damage is very minimal.
