Field painted C7/C8s

painting your rifle and trying to make it appear that it just came back from Military Service in the Sandbox will devalue your rifle ; and it may even draw a few smirks and chuckles from other firearm users at the range for trying to appear like an operator......it would be to your advantage to leave the rifle in stock form ......it will hold its' value better.....

Its his gun and if he wants to do something he will. I hate this world that everybody does stuff based on others opinions. I'm into modified cars, and you get all these people asking what should I do. Out of these rims, which should I pick? In the end your only building things for others judging by the about of likes. So what, you want to be different. Be different.

In the end its only paint.

This thread is hilarious. Trying to replicate a used look? Are you the type of guy that buys pre ripped jeans?

Haha I'm just kidding (kind of) I sprayed my mossberg 500 tan because I was super hungover and bored. Took it camping only once last summer and it has a used look already, mostly becaue I used it.

I understand you're stuck at a range with an ar so that sucks. Just play with it a lot I guess. Go in the backyard and belly crawl around with your rifle. Eat some mre's and get some meat loaf sauce all up in there. Buy a sand blaster and hold the gun far far away and give it some light blasts. I dunno using the rifle might do it as well.

lol....or just tie a rope around the rifle , and drag it through the gravel at the range as you walk around......that will give the distressed look real quick.....

I like rifles that are a lighter colour than black for one big reason other than it looks cool, they don't get so stinking hot in the sun.

Same thing with tan pelican cases... ever get a black one after they have been sitting on the tarmac for a couple of hours in the hot sun... you can barley touch them and you will burn your ass if you sit on one..

Here is a painted C8 for your reference

To each there own. Your rifle your rules but don't expect to get what it's "worth" if you sell it. Same goes with stippling.

People in the military do it to rifles they don't own and have a purpose. I didt think twice spray painting my work gun but my own, not a chance in hell.
