Came across this picture and I hurt just looking at it...

There is a fresh primer on the case but I simply can't figure how this could happen. Fake?

That's what she said: "you no put your finger there"...

Hmm, the brass would have had to go straight through the bone. I know that it's a geometrically sound shape, but I would think there would be some bending or other damage.

On the other hand, if it is a fake it is very well done. Little details like the protruding skin on the bottom of the finger add some authenticity to it.

That would hurt.

I don't see how it could even be done like that. The casing is going thru the top of the finger out the bottom. It should be the other way around

I dunno, I call fake. There should be blood all over the case-mouth and maybe part of the finger core-sample sticking out. Plus....how would you do that??!!

Well, it is surprising what some people can do.

I had an acquaintance over to help him learn how to reload.

Cautioned him about several hazards, including the mechanical advantage the press has.

He managed to poke a hole through his fingernail with a decapping pin in a FL die!!!

I am pretty careful to keep body parts in safe locations when loading.

Cheers, Dave.

I am calling fake on that. Presses have a lot of leverage, but your body would naturally stop you from pulling the handle before you rammed a case all the way through it. You could for sure do it with an automated machine though.

I will tell ya exactly how this happened:

Person A owes money.

Person A is also an avid reloader/shooter.

Tony and Vic come to see person A at his home.

Person A doesn't owe a ton of money but enough to upset the boss.

Vic and Tony arrive when person A is at his reloading bench.

Vic and Tony help person A to remember that he has debts.

The lack of blood on the case mouth? Excessive use of RCBS case lube gel.

The Boss had warned Person A: "Pay me back the money or I'll take you out in your prime!"
The boss kept his word.

I don't know how it could punch straight thru the bone without deflecting or, as has been pointed out, even deforming the case mouth. I'm thinking it a fake.

I have injured myself in some pretty unique ways with some pretty unbelievable outcomes. I dunno, but I think it is possible, you don't know what can happen until it does, just gotta hold your tongue right some times. :)
