Finger in the press = ouch!!

More than one pic would be good,
My immediate response is to call BS, just like I do with most things on the net, but...
An automated machine is no place for the digits.
How the heck would you even heal that...push the plug back in?...

This takes piercings and body jewelry to a whole new level. :sok2
I bet one could have a lot of fun submitting the photo to the media as being a gunshot wound

You jest, but some anti has already added it to this year's gun violence statistic....

Even after a nearly severed finger and a crushed hand (seperate incidents) that still looks #%^*ing painful to me. End of the classical piano playing for sure.

I've worked 20yrs in the ER and have seen it all, this looks like the real deal there's surprisingly very little bleeding with penetrating injuries like this the pressure of the foreign object stops any bleeding, looks to me like this case is penetrated through the DIP joint which he would lose mobility and most likely the distal end of his finger. If he missed the bone and joint no biggie some irrigation couple of stiches and a strong course of antibiotics.

You're probably right with the first point. And I definitly can't dispute the second point, sure looks real to me, and nasty to say the least. Poor bugger, at least it wasn't his trigger finger

Dam it, now the price of presses will go up, and the shipping charges for them will increase, as well. Why? The body of the press will have to be made larger, which will increase size, and weight. Why? So warning stickers can be attached, to help keep "ijits" from getting Darwin Award honourable mentions:) Just take note how many warning stickers are on that nice, new atv / quad you just bought. These machines have gotten huge, not because of increased CCs, but to make room for those warning stickers:) Factory ammo rocks:rockOn:

I smashed a finger-tip up bad in a press two years ago is a brain-dead accident. It was a brand Rockchucker Supreme that I had just taken out of the box and if I remember right screwed the handle on. (It might have come installed, I can't remember) Then I picked it up by the top of the frame and the handle dropped under its own weight.................I just about had to pry myself off the ceiling when the ram hit my finger. I have no trouble believing that it would drive a case through your finger like it wasn't even there, or cut it off.
