Finger in the press = ouch!!

Seating a bullet on a automatic progressive press like a 1050 with auto-drive?
Can't be when he was trying to resize the case cause that would have most likely crushed all the surrounding area of his finger.
I am confused with this... and trying to make sense of this is making if worse. :D

I will tell ya exactly how this happened:

Person A owes money.

Person A is also an avid reloader/shooter.

Tony and Vic come to see person A at his home.

Person A doesn't owe a ton of money but enough to upset the boss.

Vic and Tony arrive when person A is at his reloading bench.

Vic and Tony help person A to remember that he has debts.

The lack of blood on the case mouth? Excessive use of RCBS case lube gel.

If not a fake picture, the sordid scenario above is a possibility. In other words, the intervention of a mean "mofo" would explain the incident. I fail to understand how a sorry sob could inadvertently nail himself like that.

apparently it happened on an auto drive. the story goes the guy flipped the reverse switch for a different machine and hit the pedal. it looks like .300 blackout.

That looks like it would have sucked if its real. After I got my first lee collet die I was pretty excited about how fast and clean it was compared to using a lube pad and stuff. I somehow managed to smash my finger between the case mouth and the decapping pin, the decapper pin went in just beside my finger nail, it didn't push through the bottom, but you could see the deformed skin and the decapper's "path" through the side of my finger. Blood and bruising like crazy. Like I smashed it real bad with a hammer.
Needless to say I was a little less complacent after that.

Hmm, the brass would have had to go straight through the bone. I know that it's a geometrically sound shape, but I would think there would be some bending or other damage.

On the other hand, if it is a fake it is very well done. Little details like the protruding skin on the bottom of the finger add some authenticity to it.

That would hurt.

It's not hitting the bone given the angle of the case, the bone in the end of the finger is surprisingly small.

That looks to have gone through the joint but I guess that it's possible that the casing deflected at the bone and rode along the side of the bone and moved through flesh (shot a 3.25" framing nail into my index finger knuckle and thankfully the nail rode right down the plam side of my knuckles, no damage but a lot smarter...). I would have expected swelling and discolouration on this guy's injury though.

I'm no doctor, nor have I played one on TV.

I've done the de-capping pin in the index finger thing, moving quickly and in a groove as opposed to the moment. Boy, it sounds like I'm a real spazz, I'm not bleeding at the moment though!

I call fake, if I had some how managed to not realize the first mm of penetration only to continue driving another 3cm, I don't think I would be stopping to take a picture.

Yeah. I could see this happening... Especially if that picture was taken at the hospital after it was cleaned up a bit.

The mouth of a case is sharp I have seen them dig into wood plenty of times.
