So, assuming someone is going to go with a buyback, as restricted guns are at my home address and not in the lake, how is fair value for buyback determined? Canadian dollar is weak, so canadian value has gone up. Retail should also be reset higher.
This is completely dumb.
Total misguided waste of effort in the wrong direction.
30 days to act... Will have to read the irg post more closely.
Wrong. (I am dual citizen) You do not need to be a permanent resident (if you're talking green card) to own firearms. you can have H1B1 visa to buy firearms. To "invest" it I believe it's a mill in cash upfront. and ex amount in the bank and continously have income of that degree. If it was so easy many people would do it. but unfortunately you can't. And trying to immigrate any other way besides marrying you have to prove that the skils/job that you apply for will not take jobs away from qualified americans.
Does anyone know what would happen to lowers that have been purchased already but not been processed yet?
Wrong. You need to be an immigrant alien. H1B (H1B1 is for Chile and Singapore only) is a nonimmigrant alien category which means you cannot possess firearms unless you were admitted for the purpose (e.g. a hunting trip).

Does the prohibition on the receipt and possession of firearms and ammunition by aliens in nonimmigrant visa status apply to nonimmigrant aliens who lawfully enter the United States without a visa?
No. A nonimmigrant alien who is lawfully admitted to the United States without a visa (e.g. Visa Waiver Program), may acquire or possess a firearm in the United States.
Does a Canadian citizen residing in the United States need an alien number or admission number to purchase a firearm?
Yes. All non-U.S. citizens need an alien number or admission number to purchase a firearm from a federal firearms licensee (FFL). A FFL cannot complete the sale without an alien or admission number. This is the case even if you have a state permit that ATF has determined qualifies as a "NICS alternative" and therefore do not need to have a NICS background check.

Under federal law a Canadian may possess and purchase a firearm. You just have to make sure you comply with any other local, State, and Federal laws. Hell, I have a NH CCW permit, as do many other members here.
transferred 5 lowers today all came back with reference numbers, just tried to do 2 more and they will no go through. Tried calling the biz hotline and they told me that there were told to shut down the system for maintenance until tomorrow afternoon.
Oh look someone who knew. lol

Canadians fall under a different set of laws because we don't need a Visa to enter the US. If you need a Visa to enter the US, you MUST fall under an exemption such as a hunting permit in order to posses a firearm in the US. If you don't need a Visa, you can posses and purchase a firearm there, regardless of residency.
My bad meant H1B. but yea you can purchase guns. cause i did itmove to the states then tell me.
Buying or selling ?
Email everyone! I sent variations of this letter to Bill Blair, my MP, Doug Ford, Andrew Scheer, even Justin Trudeau himself. We need to let them all know that they do not have our consent! If this happens we must all roar with one voice for Trudeau’s removal from office! Take the time. Do it. The time for talk is nearing an end
Dear Minister Blair,
I am contacting you out of grave concern regarding the liberal governments plan to circumvent democratic process. It has been raised that the Prime Minister is intending to use an Order in Council to ban legally acquired property from Canada’s most responsible and patriotic Canadians. I implore you, and the government do not destroy our democracy that many have fought and died for. The reason we have parliament is for democratic debate, and to ensure the rights and freedoms of Canadians are not trampled on by a reigning government. I am deeply saddened, like you, and the government by the violence committed in Nova Scotia, and in the inner cities. I assure you however, these types of bans will have zero impact on public safety. Criminals don’t care about laws, and never will. The Firearms Act already has the written laws that should have prevented these atrocities from happening. The problem is, that weapons are brought in from outside our country by criminals, and are not obtained legally. Then used illegally by other criminals. All these types of bans will do is create more “criminals” out of otherwise law abiding and patriotic Canadians. There is a place for debate about our laws, but bypassing democratic process is a slippery slope towards dictatorships. All an Order in Council will do is create a deafening cry from Canadians to remove this Prime Minister and his party from office. Nothing more. It is sickening that this administration would use the current crisis we are experiencing with COVID 19, and stand on the graves of the loved ones lost in Nova Scotia to political advantage, bypassing democracy. Please do not spit on the graves of our forefathers and in the faces of your fellow Canadians. Do the right thing and open up fair debate on this issue and all other issues facing Canadians. It is your duty to uphold democracy not to turn your backs on it.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to seeing governments work for there constituents and not intend to rule them with an iron fist.
Sincerely, a proud Canadian Essential Worker
Riddle me this: if you have an H1B visa, did you lawfully enter the United States without a visa?
I sent a variation of this email to my local mp.. hope you don’t mind I used it!
Not at all friend! I encourage all if they like. We need to be united now more than ever and we must be heard. Keep flooding them with mail and make sure they are aware we don’t consent to the skirting of democratic process
