Albayo:
Not that this statement will put your issue in any better perspective, but unfortunately yours is not the only 12.x-class Prohib currently being "reviewed" by the RCMP. Along with your FN FAL, we have a VZ.58 purchased from our store on 26 July 2013 that was shipped to the RCMP for "reverification" on 9 October 2013. According to Purolator, that rifle was delivered to the RCMP depot on 10 October 2013, yet despite phone calls and E-mails by myself, and face-to-face inquiries by our manager, we have not had any update to the status of this "review" in nearly 18 months.
And then there is the case of an H&K G3 rifle sold on 7 November 2012. According to the CFO, this gun is a 12.3 Converted Auto. So far it has taken 14 months of argument back and forth between the Registry, the CFO, and our store to come up with no resolution as to the actual status and classification of this firearm.
This is by no means an attempt to make light of your situation, Albayo, only to advise yourself and others who read this thread that these situations do exist, and that despite the efforts we have made and are continuing to make toward resolving these situations, it appears to be the position of someone within the office of The Powers That Be that these guns should never fall into the hands of rightfully-licensed owners who have followed the required procedures to acquire and maintain their 12x status licenses, and have purchased those firearms in good faith, only to have the Big Brother of our government intervene in that transfer and sale "for the sake of public safety".
Hopefully some day we will see a version of the Common Sense Firearms Act actually come to light. And perhaps on that day a good portion of the BS that dominates this industry will find itself flushed away at last.
We can only hope. . . .
