The Springfield doesn't have it. Don't know about the FN.
The new FN doesn't have it, either.

I agree, less chance of hammer bite for meaty hands and they look more balanced as well to my eye with a beaver tail. I think Girsan might be releasing a beaver tailed but also railed version.

This new gun has a slide that protrudes further back than a P35. This gives a longer 'tail' and also moves the hammer back. This should reduce bite as it looks like a Sig P22X series in that regard.
I thought the tooling was FUBAR, that FN couldn't make anymore?
i would just get a cz75
I'd take the Springfield over the new glitzy FN if I couldn't get a "real" Browning Hi Power.
I love the classic pistol with all it's old fashioned controls and character, leave the plastic crap in the dishwasher or garbage where it belongs.
I love the originals for the simple clean look. These have too much "going on" IMO.

They just gotta ruin the classics...
I find it somewhat amusing that they added a internal extractor (deleted circa 1961) and the thumb cut (deleted circa 1959).
guys in the US (who say they've held it) are saying it's about 25% larger than a BHP, and if the barrel is 4.7" I would guess that to be an accurate assessment.
