FN is bringing a new High Power!

Of all the things FN did keep, that finger divot on the slide has to be the silliest.

And yes, a Glock or the other wonder guns in plastic are wonderful tools and a marvel of new design and technology, but they don't speak to my heart.

Good job FN. If not traditional at least you tried.

The MSRP they quoted for TFBTV was $1269 for the black and FDE and $1369 for the stainless. That's gonna be one pricey not-a-Hi Power Hi Power once it gets up here. I have always had an interest in the Hi Power but never really took the plunge. Seeing that 3 different companies are releasing new versions of the Hi Power for 2022, this may be the year to dive in.

I agree, less chance of hammer bite for meaty hands and they look more balanced as well to my eye with a beaver tail. I think Girsan might be releasing a beaver tailed but also railed version.

That picture looks good, beavertail appears to extend beyond the hammer, although one cannot really tell unless it is cocked.

For me, a rail would be a deal breaker, unless optional.

The new model looks more balanced with the slide and hammer further back and more of a curve for the web of the hand. Almost looks like there is a replaceable part if a person wanted a beavertail but it might not be needed with the new design.

I want to know exactly how much of it is plastic, where does it stop and the steel begin again? Backstrap and frontstrap removable panels only?
Also, I heard they increased the size from the old BHPs for these new ones. I hope not.

Anyone heard anything on either of those?

A company out of England called Longthorne has announced a new version of the Hi Power as well. They have a video on YouTube. TGS Longthorne Pistol.

could someone reminds me why they stopped the mkIII? and now they bring it back. sorry for me it will be the sa35.

The tooling was worn out and they were too cheap to refurbish or replace it.

I'm not sure what that new gun it, but it is not a Hi Power Mk III.

Their beavertail is excellent.

However, they kept the mag safety although apparently improving it to mitigate its effect on the trigger pull.

Springfield, now this, so glad I picked up a real one around the time it was announced discontinued.

Yes, I'm keeping my Made in Belgium, Assembled in Portugal version. I'd settle for one of Springfield Armory's, but this new FN design is too different to carry the same name. Perhaps it should have been called the Higher Power.

Somewhat like Colt’s new “Cobra.”

The original, one of my favourites in a double action snub, is an alloy framed lightweight.

The new one is all steel and weighs a great deal more.
