Just did on my 28" 870 barrel, 20.75mm without any choke

Can confirm... I just checked ... um a friends ... Mossberg 500 pump and it measured 20.65mm with the choke out. Un-bucking felievable.

A removable choke makes the bore greater than 20mm with the choke out.

By law, barrel and bore dimensions are taken without removable bore devices such as flash hiders and choke tubes. So, just as a muzzle brake doesn't count towards your overall barrel length, a choke tube doesn't determine your bore diameter. Since a shotgun can be fired with the choke tube removed, for many shotguns "the largest diameter of the tube in which the projectile travels" is in excess of 20mm.

Bore diameter is not measured at the front unless it is a muzzle loader. Stop the scare mongering... also a shotgun is not safe to fure without a choke installed...
