Well, I got the chance to shoot the targets at 550 meters this weekend with a huge array of firepower, everything from 6.5, 7.62x54R, .223, 338 lapua, and .50BMG.
I ran out of time to go back down to check out the targets, but from our spotting scopes, it is pretty clear the only things on the plate damaged is the paint. The chain system worked perfectly, I am very happy with it. It took some hits very near to the hardware with no visible wear. (Through a spotting scope mind you) 10x faster to set up then a cable system, and easier to repair if it does get shot down.
Off center hits with the .50 were hilarious to watch, the gong and chain, weighing over 100lbs, would flip around 360 degrees, and a second later you would hear that wonderful *PLINK* noise.
I won't have pics of the target for another month until I get back out there, but I can tide you over till then with the gun #### photos of the weekend that I did take. More will come when the other guys post up.
